Just the fact that this kid, and yes I'll call him a kid, couldn't be commited to going to class and being the best he could be, is enough for me not to want him.
sHe says he's mature now, but that doesn't happen in a year or two....
He may be working hard now, but hell, I'de bust my ass for a year to have the chance to make in the high 6 digits a year also..
I wuold look for someone with more proven dedication and stronger teachability characature....

I LOVE THE SMELL OF VICTORY IN THE MORNING AIR.

RUSSELL PULLS A MO-CLO
Two days after he vowed not to run the 40-yard dash as slow as Maurice Clarett did it two years ago, former Minnesota running back Gary Russell posted two bad, bad times on Sunday afternoon.
Clarett ran a 4.72 and a 4.82 after being out of football for two full seasons.
Russell, who missed the 2006 season because of academics issues, ran a 4.8 and a 4.82.
Russell had to lose 25 pounds to get in shape, and he blamed his ineligibility in 2006 to being lazy.
Based on his history and on his times in the 40, we doubt that Russell will hear his name called at the draft.

Regardless, I'd still like to see the Vikings take him in the last roundKentucky Vikes Fan

Did you ever see this kid play? I watched his career and if he had not flunked out of school he would have been a better runner than Maroney. He had 1130 yards in his sophamore year in the Big 10 conference. If the kid gets his head straight he could be outstanding and that's why he's worth a last round pick.

Kid will be fine, regardless if he gets drafted or not. Truth be told, if he doesn't get drafted, someone's getting a hell of a deal for him...-Sno

Kevin Williams ran a 4.81 40, almost identical to Gary Russell's 4.80.
Equally pathetic, he put up 9 bench press reps, even with him being 229 pounds, 14 pounds heavier than his playing weight.
My point is Gary Russell is a lazy piece of crap and he throw away all his God-Given talent.
