Free Agents that can still help the Vikes.
Here are some FA that I think can still help the Vikes and provide depth at some positions, also a list of available FA.
QB's
Kerry Collins (boos and catcalls) He is better than Mike Mahon, and if Brad went down I would rather have Collins coming off the bench. Plus he would probably take a million a year as a backup now that nobody has signed him.
Quarterback
Kerry Collins
Tommy Maddox
Jay Fiedler
Tony Banks
Shane Matthews
Jeff Blake
Doug Flutie
Ty Detmer
RB's
Johnathan Wells (Texans) would give us some additional depth at RB just encase things would go bad with injuries.
Running Back
Jonathan Wells
Lamar Gordon
Stephen Davis
Tony Hollings
Mike Cloud
James Jackson
J.R. Redmond
FB
Do not see a need to add anybody else at this time.
Fullback
Jarrod Baxter
Daimon Shelton
Nick Luchey
Paul Smith
Omar Easy
WR's
Randy Hymes (Ravens) is the only player I see that would have any upside for the Vikes to bring in, and he would give us some more depth.
Wide Receiver
Kevin Johnson
Dez White
Az-Zahir Hakim
Randy Hymes
Patrick Johnson
David Boston
Johnnie Morton
Troy Edwards
Ricky Proehl
TE's
Boo Williams (Saints) would be a good pickup. He has a lot of potential but he missed last year with a knee injury. He could have some upside and brings in another receiving TE to back up Wiggins.
Tight End
Boo Williams
Lamont Hall
Roland Williams
Marcellus Rivers
Cam Cleeland
Tony Stewart
O-line
I do not see any need to bring in more O-line help after all the moves the Vikes have made this off season.
Guard
Ron Stone
Kendyl Jacox
Fred Weary
Tom Nutten
Offensive Tackle
Brad Hopkins
Orlando Brown
Matt Stinchcomb
Todd Fordham
Ethan Brooks
Jacob Rogers
Scott Gragg
Victor Riley
Center
Jeff Mitchell
Cory Raymer
Kicker:
We only need a rookie for camp fodder, Longwell is going to be the kicker.
Kicker
Todd Peterson
Paul Edinger
Jose Cortez
Punter
With Kluwe coming off a knee injury I think adding more competition would not hurt! I would bring in any of these 3 and give them a try.
Punter
Kyle Richardson OK punter he is serviceable
Tom Tupa Hell of a punter but missed the 2005 season
Sean Landeta Another hell of a punter and would be good to bring in
DT
We are pretty set and I do not see the need to add anybody.
Defensive Tackle
Brenston Buckner
Jason Fisk
Grady Jackson
James Reed
Lance Legree
Steve Martin
Josh Williams
DE
I would not mind if they brought somebody into camp just to add some depth and see how Kenechi is after his injury, but the only one out of this group I like at all is Clemons
Defensive End
Duane Clemons
Gary Walker
Adrian Dingle
Carl Powell
ILB
I would like to see the Vikes bring a Veteran into camp for depth and safety for the season.
Earl Holmes (Lions & Pitt) would be my choice. He is a vet but he was dinged up a little last year, he could add some experience and depth in the middle!
Inside Linebacker
Rocky Calmus
Earl Holmes
Chris Claiborne
Saleem Rasheed
Ronald McKinnon
OLB
Maybe we could bring in 1 OLB to add some insurance to how the OLB's play this year.
Tommy Polly (Ravens & Rams) would be my choice and would be a good pickup and has some upside.
Outside Linebacker
Jamie Sharper Good veteran backup
Tommy Polley
Chad Brown
Peter Boulware Old but was a great LB, maybe for league minimum
Keith Newman
Barrett Green
Junior Seau
DeLawrence Grant
CB
I think the Vikes should add a veteran to compete for the nickle or dime.
Ty Law is the only one of this group that I like, He would probably be to expensive to bring in, if we could get him for dirt cheap I would add him.
Cornerback
Ahmed Plummer
Ty Law
Dexter McCleon Maybe ?
Ralph Brown
Ray Mickens
Willie Williams
Michael Lehan
DeWayne Washington
Dale Carter
Terry Fair
Safety
Insurance for Willie's recover and if he gets more DUI's.
Lance Schulters (Journeyman) would be a good backup and added insurance.
Safety
Antuan Edwards
Brent Alexander Good player but he is 34
Lance Schulters Journeyman but could be a good backup
Keion Carpenter (Falcons) would be a good backup
Ronnie Heard
Earl Little
Jerry Wilson
Ifeanyi Ohalete
Bracy Walker
Willie Middlebrooks
What we've got here is failure to communicate.
