Re: Free Agent Pickups -Who Do YOu Want

There ya go. Each team's numbers were about 5 mil more than that so that means after the moss trade we had around 25 mil to spend.

    1 Minnesota Vikings $30 M
The Vikings have the cap room to make HUGE strides this off-season. The only problem is that their current owner is a cheapskate. In fact, he's looking to sell the team to the highest bidder any day now. The lofty cap space also means that the team could easily absorb the nearly $10 M cap hit they would take in the event that they decide trade Randy Moss.

On the issue of Cap space - after all the spending we did last year we were still about 10 million under the cap at the start of the season. We have plently of money, especially if Daunte gets traded before the signing Bonus. Also, this CBA situation plays into our hands as we like to front load the contracts anyway.

Last year we were 34 mil under the cap at the start of FA, this year we are 24 under. So if we spend like last year we will have nothing left.
No way we were 34 mil under... More like 24 mil last year. It was between 24-28 mil last year.
B/S....we are like the 4th richest team in Cap space, we need to spend like we are and get some players....Childress has been pissing me off, he sounds like a cheap a$$! He keeps talking about conserving money, this is the MINNESOTA VIKINGS, not the Minnesota Twins....we got money to throw around out there and there are some big time free agents this year that we would be re-tard-ed to not pursue!

4.Sign John Runyan and/or Lecharles Bentley and/or Steve Hutchinson

5.Sign Adam Archuleta, or Chris Hope

That would be the perfect off season for me and the vikes to take a big step in the right direction.

I didn't think i need to repeat the same thing!!! But i don't think we are going to get all those guys, it would be nice, but i don't think it is going to happen!!!

I'de really like to see Runyan, I think he's at the last couple or few years of his playing time. He will probably play like hell for a team like us, thats close to winning the big show..

I have a feeling the Eagles are going to let him finish out his career there though, he's already said he'd take a pay cut to do it.

I'de also like to see us get Edge, really, he's proven and he would fit well with this team. One that for sure could only help us get to the promise land.......And we have the money to do it...

Will Witherspoon, another I'de like to see come in for talks and take a look at....

you're right ppe, i was wrong about the cap situation. It wasnt 34 mil, it was 36 mil. And oh, just in case you were wondering, this was posted after the moss trade, read the article.
