31. Minnesota: They took Iowa linebacker Chad Greenway in the first round and many teams thought he didn't have the sudden burst necessary to be a big-time NFL linebacker. Then they took a sixth-round center Ryan Cook with the 51st overall choice and traded up to select Alabama State quarterback Tarvaris Jackson with the 64th pick. Most teams had Jackson in the 7th round. Georgia safety Greg Blue will be a special teams' demon, but doesn't have good coverage skills and may be moved to weakside linebacker. Finally, if they wanted to select Oregon's Kellen Clemens in the second round, they were out-foxed by the inexperienced Jets. New personnel chieftan Fran Foley has more headaches than quite a few biographical mistakes in his resume. Grade: D

Actually if there is one thing Tice seemed to do well it was draft ... he hit on McKinnie and K-Will (with K-Will being called very questionable at one point) and also did a fairly good job in nabbing Onterrio and N8 ... lets hope Foley and Childress' flair for surprises works out as well as Tice's ... and then lets hope better coaching leads to better results ...

I don't know that it was that bad of a draft, and nobody will until about 3 years from now. We were probably in the bottom half of the league for sure though. These midround picks were a little disconcerting considering it is LIKELY they would have been on the board later. Oh well...we'll see!

Well, if you don't like Chad Greenway you're not going to like the Vike's draft. Certainly the other moves were not smart in the eyes of most media types. Hopefully Childress proves this guy, and others, wrong.

Just a thought - I'm guessing that if I asked who won the 1981 Super Bowl half the people on this board would know without having to look it up. How many would know who got the best draft rating in 2005? Congratulations to the Jets for having a good draft, but I don't think they have any parades scheduled to celebrate that top ranking they got from John Czarnecki.

Still, worse than the Bills? Really?
