Thread: With the forty-forth pick in the 2007 NFL Draft the Vikings select Sidney Rice

Great pick. Very fast and has some great hands. What do you think of the pick?

I loved the pick.
I thought the Vikes needed a physical wide reciever, and Rice has a lot of upside.
I can not stand Dwayne Jarret and I am
SO happy we didn't pick him.

Rice is our best reciever. I'm very pleased. I'm hopin havin a rook from SC will light a fire under TWill. Lord knows, he needs SOMETHING, glasses, contacts, lasik, stick-um or whatever the NIKE guys came up with. I think Rice can catch the darn ball, so I'm good.

I like it he is big and physical and stands about 6 foot 4 inches. Also I think he is more prepared to come into the league unlike Troy Williamson was out of SC state. Lets hope he pans out atleast

maybe jarret was one of those players the staff flagged as bad for the team? I like rice

Speed, size, and almost 40" vertical.
Sounds like we got our red-zone guy.
Gotta give the front office a little credit here too.
They picked up an extra #4 with the trade down and, presumably, still got their target.
Sidney and Adrian will be lighting up the Dome for years.
Now, I say we go DB.

I like the pick.
But what I like more was the move the Vikes made here and still had the choice between 2 potentially great WR (Jarrett/Rice).

I really would have rather had Jarrett over Rice, but both are really can't miss guys.
Either one of them is an upgrade over anyone that we have on the team now.
Also, maybe having another S. Carolina WR across from Williamson will remind him of how he used to catch the ball in College.
