TAMPA, Fla. - Free-agent guard Toniu Fonoti signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday.
The former second-round pick has appeared in 34 games, with 33 starts, in four NFL seasons with San Diego and Minnesota. He started two games with the Chargers in 2005 before being traded to the Vikings on Oct. 18.
Fonoti, who made one start for the Vikings, was the 39th player taken in the 2002 draft. He started 14 of 15 games he played as a rookie in San Diego. He missed the 2003 season because of an injury, then started all 16 games for the Chargers in 2004.

Has he passed his physical yet?
The best part of my day is when I get down on my knees, with my head in my hands, and thank GOD for everything he has given me.

Re: Fonoti signs with Buccaneers
The Vikes didn't want him because he's out of shape..., ditto for the Raiders. I don't know what will change for the Buccaneers..., unless they just have a thing for ex-viking DT's.

He will lose weight just walking through the airports to meet each team.. Imagine if he had a meeting with the Bears, he would have to walk through O'Hara Int.. That is a huge airport. If he did that, then had to meet other teams, then Chicago asked to have another meeting with him, that is 20lbs right there..
