Certainly don't want to see Heath hitting the market with the way our specail teams played last year, sounds like he wants to play defense and thats not gonna happen here unless EJ gets hurt. It will be intristing to see what his market value is coming off a serious injury.

Look I'll be the first to admit we missed this guy last year, not only on ST's but when EJ went down but seriously, we have bigger issues on ST's than just one tackler my friends.

Lets hope the new (old) guy can fix things.

We need to retain this guy, he is EJ's back-up and a monster on ST's. Lets just match any offer he might receive. We can't have Napo, and DT as back-ups we must upgrade our depth at the LB position.

Can you really blame Farwell for wanting to try the market?
Worst case for him, he still starts for us on ST's...

He's been our best ST's player for some time now.
The few times I've seen him plugged into LB, during a game, he's held his own and played very well.
I bet he just boils inside, every game that he starts, knowing he's there to play only ST's.
It's obvious he wants to play LB full time, and I believe that if he can come back 100% from his injury, he's good enough to start for a number of teams out there who are in need of a solid LB.
Not only that, they'ed be getting one hell of a proven ST's player also.

Sure, I'de hate to see him go, but if given the chance to start at LB for someone else, he's earned that if you ask me....

I'd rather have Napo than Farwell as EJ's backup. Napo has the experience of starting numerous games as a LB'er and wasn't out with an injury the whole year.

He is a backup at his position. We can find a replacement much cheaper than what it would take to resign him.

Napo's wheels came off a long time ago, and we cannot plat the "Tampa Two" when he is in, as he cannot get back into deep center field to help in the deep middle like EJ can. Heath is fast sideline to sideline and can get back deep in the T2.

    Re: Farwell To Test Market

Napo filled in quite nicely last year butlet's face it.
    He is no Heath Farwell.
Heath is a beast on STs and imo fills in nicely when given the chance at LB.
He is a valuble piece that I hope doesn't leave.
I don't blame him for testing the market because he wants to start.
Selfishly I would like him to stay.

Man, that would suck to lose Farwell.

Here is how I think it will play out: Some other team will promise to put him in "competition" with someone for a starting job...and then the regular season will come around and he'll end up back on special teams as a 2nd string linebacker. Kind of a cynical way to look at it...but I think he'll go for the greener grass.
