Falcons | Schaub likely staying put

Falcons | Schaub likely staying put
    Mon, 10 Apr 2006 18:07:15 -0700

ESPN.com's John Clayton reports there probably won't be a trade involving Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Schaub because he's too valuable to the Falcons. Though teams have inquired about Schaub, the Falcons are making it clear they aren't going to take anything less than a No. 1 draft pick for him.

That's just fine with me. I'd rather have our 17th pick than a Schaub.

good as long as the Vikings don't sell the farm for him.

i totally disagree.if brad goes down this year, stick a fork in us. mcmahon(sp)is not leading the vikes to victory.schaub is ready i believe to start now.a rookie will take 3 years most likely.i'd give up the first round pick for him...just my opinion

Why is Matt ready? He has not played that much. McMahon playes for crap butt teams. He will be ok.

When Bledsoe went down the Pats were also screwed. Didn't work out too bad for them.

schaub is in the league for 3 years.on the sidelines or not it's experience that a rookie doesn't have.mcmahon makes horrible decisions, bad teams or not.and brady supplanting bledsoe is a fluke so that doesn't hold much water..

They may say that now but everything changes on draft day so who knows what will happen.

Cool...then let's draft Croyle or Jacobs or Whitehurst. They are ready to go. Even though Schaub knows the WCO like the back of his hand, screw him. I want Whitehurst. Makes me feel alot better having a rookie rather then a nfl backup who should be starting over Vick. Our 37 year old QB goes down...we got Mchmahon and Whitehurst. Much better then a QB that over 7 nfl franchises have coveted this entire offseason.

I laid the sarcasm on with a spatula. This isn't a personal shot at anyone here. I like you all. In my opinion, let me repeat "In my opinion" I think passing on Schaub is a mistake. Yes he is a backup, but only because Vick puts fans in the seat. It's the Vikings orginization, not mine. I'm just a fan. If we keep the 17th pick that's great too. I love my vikes through everything. When I say everything, that's a euphemism for alot of pain.
