Re: FA Signings so far
Chester Taylor is going to be a very fine addition to the team.
He is not a 1300 yd back, but there are no 1300 yd FA backs out there.

Krob signed! chester taylor signed.. and ryan longwell... nice! keep em coming. i am suprised we didn't aim a little higher the taylor though. i see taylor as a guy who has been waiting to start for some time now... he is a good add IMO.

So why pay so much more for the name?

Re: FA Signings so far
Maybe Edge dont want to come here, even if he did i am glad we didnt blow over half of our cap to get him. The signing bonus will be at least 10 mill and then his year salary, thats alot of cash. Now if we can snag hutch and witherspoon that would be huge, if we want these two we wouldnt have enough left for edge anyways. And i would take them two over edge in a flash and wouldnt think twice.

Re: FA Signings so far
Cuz we have the most cap by far.. It wouldn't hurt us at all to get a big name like Edge.. I don't want Jamal.. He wouldn't fit well here..
But RB is a huge need.. Edge is proven and is a solid well rounded back..
So it's really not for the name.. It's for the production

Re: FA Signings so far
It seems that the players that we've recently signed have fairly small bonuses. Does anyone have a rough estimate as to how much cap room we have left for next year with Longwell, Taylor, Robinson, and Leber joining the team? I'm not exactly sure as to how the cap figures worth, but it seems to me that they are based more on guaranteed money and such. Any help with this?

But Edge need very structured/precise/consistant blocking.
I really think we don't offer that.
I mean I wish we could, but to have a back produce like that in Minn we would have to have the 2nd coming of Barry Sanders.
I think our O-Line is very avg, if not below.
Thoughts Z???
