Excuses for missing Ponders training camp
Amid malingerers, two athletes are standing out by stepping up
There's a first for Berrian, not only misses catches but now has graduated to planes :P I bet he didn't even run for the flight for fear of pulling a hamstring..The millionaire ballplayers on our two most prominent teams need to develop a work ethic, a conscience or a better set of excuses. Many of them failed to distinguish themselves over the last couple of weeks.
Vikings veterans Bernard Berrian (missed flight) and Percy Harvin (lost phone) couldn't quite make it to the passing camp run by rookie quarterback Christian Ponder.Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...

Lost phone is a weak excuse. You're a millionaire. buy a new one. Not hard.

Funny...in a sad, pathetic sort of way.

It's truly a shame that these millionaire players aren't motivated enough to get off their asses and try and improve themselves.
Any other questions about why we tanked last season?

I thought it was 100% Favre's fault?

That's what ONE person around here would have us believe. While Singer isn't a Favre fan, he also recognizes that our team as a whole needs work, especially our Line.

Re: Excuses for missing Ponders training camp
Kinda funny they use Mourneau as an example of a grinder. Didn't he miss 3/4 of the season last year because of a concussion? Joe Mauer on the other hand has been pretty reliable for a catcher, even now he is still working, but the manager doesn't think he's ready for the big leagues yet.
Favre should have taught these guys how to come up with a decent excuse why they couldn't play.
In the end though, I don't view it as significant. What is significant is if these players are out of shape when the season does start. I don't think that will be the case with our wide recievers as they know what it takes to be the best.
