When the clock struck midnight (Eastern) last Thursday/Friday, the NFL free agency season officially began.
As Vikings fans, this is usually a very depressing time....
Re: Early Analysis on the Vikings Acquisitions
Holy crap, I feel like I just got stupider listening to those two.
Q is wrong in thinking that nobody would have paid Berrian close to that much money.
Otherwise we wouldn't have paid it.
Out front office isn't that stupid.
They can gauge the value of a player on the open market.
Somebody was gonna overpay slightly for the guy.
It's not like we're in any kind of cap trouble.
R.B. knows how to manage the cap.
And I don't like when people call players chumps because they don't perform to a certain level.
As long as a player is giving it his all, it's not his fault if he is overpaid.
Re: Early Analysis on the Vikings Acquisitions
Very interesting read my friend.
Good thing it is an early analysis.
I am sure they will see the errors and approach their statements later on this year after they use a different approach to analyze the team.
The Yutz approach sure doesn't seem to be working.
;D
A shut down corner in a cover 2 scheme was the one that just got me to laughing.
Re: Early Analysis on the Vikings Acquisitions
The only thing from grading this FA period a A+ is the fact we haven't landed a LDE. FA's get paid, and if you want to get one you have to pay the market value. Ya'll act like you are signing the checks. We have a plan, and it is going quite well if you ask me.
Re: Early Analysis on the Vikings Acquisitions
71 catches in the Bears offense is pretty impressive as far as I am concerned.
Re: Early Analysis on the Vikings Acquisitions
i feel insulted after reading that article. the one guy (i think Q) said he hates how much he paid for Berrian, but like others have said, we needed to overpay him or else he would have gone somewhere else. I mean yeah, i dont think he should be the 4th highest paid WR, but it was necessary. the vikings are better with berrian than w/o him no matter what the cost. And besides, next years FA, if there is another big name WR, he will be overpaid as well. Also, once berrian has his first 1000 yard season this year, he will silence the doubters.
;D

Same here my friend.
I give them a B+ though as it appears they at least target Odom and Smith.
To bad they didn't get either one of them in the door.
I thought Odom was a great fit at LDE.
