I think he would join the endless list of mediocre QB's.

Right there with Salsbury and Gannon.

    Re: Drew Brees to Minnesota???

Hmm seems to be a bit warmer in FL, warmer weather is better for rehab. I think Torri Hunter went to texas after he was out for the year and no one seemed to care about that. I would rather have pep stay in one place then get on and off a plane to make a few fans happy.
First of all there is a world of difference between learning a new football style than baseball.
The point is, Culpepper is in Florida rehabbing (I hope) but he is doing nothing to learn a whole new style of football that Childress will bring with him. Despite lots of HINTS that he should be in Minnesota working with the coaches while he rehabs, he stays in Florida almost like he's defying the coaching staff. I'm sure that endures him to no one including the rest of his team members to say nothing about the coaching staff.
I read now where he is able to do so workouts on his feet so it's obvious to me he is not hobbling around on crutches or anything like that.
I don't want him to come up to make the fans happy, I want him to come up and learn the system and work with the coaches. When he's a winner that will make the fans happy but I don't think he'll ever get that chance. I said two weeks ago he would be gone by March 17th and I still stand by that prediction.

If you hate pep, too bad get used to the fact he'll be here for a long time, if you don't like it date your sister and put on a packers jersey.
So I guess what you are saying is if I don't stand behind Pep I'm not a Vikings Fan. What a silly statement!

I don't know if you could call Brees "mediocre" - the guy has 51 TD passes his last two years! That's a little more than "mediocre"!

No kidding... why do people on here hate on Brees so much?
The best part of my day is when I get down on my knees, with my head in my hands, and thank GOD for everything he has given me.

They didn't pick up the option yet. They said they are going to, but they still have until March 17th before they have to pay him.

    Vikings, Other Teams Gearing Up

    By Scout.com

    Date: Feb 25, 2006

There are a lot of rumors and information flowing here in Indianapolis. The Vikings are said to be gearing up interest in a high profile player who is soon to be a free agent, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Here’s what Scout.com is hearing this week:

    NFC

Minnesota Vikings – If the team decides not to pick up the $6 million option for QB Daunte Culpepper, look for them to pursue San Diego Chargers QB Drew Brees, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent. The team feels he should be able to grasp the offense pretty quickly. There have been rumors of this before, but this is the first time a source with knowledge of the situation has confirmed this to Scout.com.

    Feb. 25?

    Yes, it was posted.
He posted it on the 25th. Singer just updated with a news article from today though.

Wait..uhm..51 TDs and 22 ints in the past two seasons, 65% completion percentage over that stretch with around 7.6 Yards per attempt...

    How's that mediocre?
