    Won't be getting Brees.....
    Sports Ill.

Forget the possibility of the Vikings signing free-agent quarterback Drew Brees of the Chargers. Word within NFL circles is that Brees' surgically repaired shoulder was more damaged than many people know. Quarterbacks who might intrigue the Vikings would seem to be Aaron Brooks of the Saints and Brian Griese of the Buccaneers.

Oy vay. As Bill Parcells said a couple years back,"you think I don't know I need a QB? If anybody knows a good one thats available let me know". Thats the best you can hope for is to get one of these guys (Ramsey, McCown, Griese) to back up Brad and hope Childress builds a balanced offense that doesn't require an impact QB.

Oh dear lord...Griese. As a advid Buc Hater...I really wouldnt like to see him in purple and gold. I always thought Aaron Brooks had alot of potential. I wouldnt mind him atleast backing up BJ.

Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!

Re: Draftable QB's: After the Big Three, it's a crapshoot

THere is a reason that Griese will be on his third team in 4 years. He isn't any good. Aaron Brooks could be a back-up, in case Johnson's arm falls off, but there is no way he can start. The guy makes so many mistakes it makes BIlly Joe Tolliver look like a hall of famer. IMO Brees is the way to go unless you are going to trade up and get one of the 2 good QB's in the draft, Yes, that is right 2, Young isn't going to be any good. I bet in about five years he will pull something stupid like DC. Maybe the Wonderlic does tell you something.

    Thanks Lotza!

I'm just gonna stay away from this.. No one knows who is gonna be good..

Some people think Vince is gonna be the next superstar in the league.. Some think in 3 years he will flop..

    This is all opinion..

Brooks is a great guy too. I would love to have him on the team!

Whitehurst should be alright.. Don't know about starter.. I wouldn't want him anyway but there is still some talent in this draft
Would not suprise me to see us grab him. Honestly, I'm shocked he's not talked about more. Our coaching staff is pretty familiar with developing young QB's.

So true. Matt Leinart is far and away the best QB in this draft. He was a 3-year All american wasn't he. I'd say there is a 65% chance that he pans out in the NFL. I would give Reggie Bush about a 55%, Jay Cutler a 50%, and Vince Young about a 35%. By the way I just pulled those numbers out of thin air, nothing scientific about them.
