Draft Tek Mock & Salty Roster
Not sure if anyone here ever checks out the Draft Tek mocks (found it on hailredskins.com), but I love their latest for the Vikes:
(1)
Harvey
DE
(2)
Sam Baker
OT
(3a)
Donnie Avery
WR
(3b)
Brad Cottam
TE
(4)
J.D.
Booty
QB
(5)
Marcus Harrison
DT
The mock is rounded out with a G, C, S, and DE in the 6th and 7th rounds.
Assuming these picks, and assuming the top 5 make the team, I like the possibly salty roster it leaves us with:
QB:
Jackson, J.D. Booty, Bollinger
(would love to add a veteran QB in place of Bollinger, maybe Rosenfels for a 3d rounder and keep Dugan or Ferguson (see below) instead of having Cottam or Avery, but assuming we don't -- I like Booty as insurance, if he's still around in the 4th)
RB:
A.P., C.T., Hicks
FB:
Tapeh, Tahi
WR:
Berrian, Rice, Wade, Avery, Allison (youth over the can't-find-a-job-anywhere-but-Minnesota Ferguson)
TE:
Shiancoe, Cottam, Kleinsasser, Mills
OL:
McKinnie (ugh, but oh well), Hutch, Birk, Herrera, Baker to start;
Cook, Mozes, Johnston to back them up
DE:
Harvey, Edwards to start; Robison, James (?), Mitchell
DT:
K. Williams, P. Williams; Fred Evans, Harrison, Wyms (can play DT or DE)
LB:
Greenway, Henderson, Leber to start;
Pope, Farwell, Alexander, Ciurciu
S:
Sharper & Williams to start; Boulware, Frampton
CB:
Winfield & McCauley (yes, McCauley, to start); Griffin, Gordon
P:
Kluwe
K:
Longwell
LS:
Loeffler
.....and that makes 53.
I like this roster .... great mix of youth and veterans.
and it's damned fun to speculate about this stuff as the draft approaches.
Feel free to criticize the mock and/or roster.
Have at it.

Re: Draft Tek Mock & Salty Roster
Aren't they just a couple of amateur mockers like anyone here?

Judge for yourself.
Much more complete than anything I've seen on this site.
Griffin didn't impress me too much in his second season.
My prediction is that McCauley shines in camp, takes his position and Griffin moves to nickel.

Re: Draft Tek Mock & Salty Roster
I like the first two picks but I doubt Booty is there by round 4

Re: Draft Tek Mock & Salty Roster
Draft Tek is a very good mock site.
I started viewing them last year and have to agree with a lot of their player rankings and choices.
They update their mock every 3-4 days, so there is usually something different to look at for your team.
I also like how they make it interactive with the fan voting for possible trades and stuff.
The only things I don't like is that they seem to have us reaching for players in a lot of different versions of their mocks and they don't give any player info besides position and school, otherwise very good quality.Rock out with your cock out!!!
