Draft challenge for PP.O posters
Draft game if you want to play.
No prizes, but bragging rights for the year!
Pick your 1st round draft, deals are included!
The most points wins!
If you pick the correct player, the team, and at the correct pick number, you get 1 point.
If you do a trade:
The team which has the highest pick from the trade is the one that counts!
The correct teams trading and the player taken at the highest pick is worth 4 points!
(player is all ready included, so no extra point for player)
Example: Bronco's trade with the 49ers for the 6th pick and take Mario Williams DE, if you had picked the trade and the Bronco's did take Mario Williams at the 6th spot you get 4 points (what the 49ers do at the 15th pick has nothing to do with it).
Most points wins!
Example: You choose 10 picks correctly and 1 trade that is correct, you get 14 points.
PLEASE DO NOT EDIT YOUR 1ST POST!
NO CHANGES OR MULTIPLE DRAFTS.
1 per customer please!
No posting changes in another post!
Pick once and do not change it, get it right the 1st time.
I need a favor from 1 of the modes! Could you please check the winners posts and see if it has been edited.
All entries must be posted by 10:30 Central time Saturday the 29th of April, 2006. 9:30 on PP.O as the time is off by an hour.
Here are my picks for the 1st round of the NFL draft!
1. Houston takes Reggie Bush RB
2. Saints take D'Brickashaw Furgeson OT
3. Titans take Matt Leinart QB
4. Jets take Mario Willimas DE
5. Packers take A.J Hawk OLB
6. 49ers take Vernon Davis TE
7. Raiders take Vince Young QB
8. Bills take Halogi Ngata DT
9. Lions take Michael Huff CB/ S
10. Cards take Winston Justice OT
11. Rams take Brodrick Bunkley DT
12. Browns take Ernie Sims OLB
13. Vikings take Jay Culter QB (trade) (Ravens get 17th pick)
14. Eagles take Chad Greenway OLB
15. Broncos take Chad Jackson WR
16. Dolphins take Jimmy Williams CB
17. Ravens take DeAngelo Williams RB
18. Cowboys take Tye Hill CB
19. Chargers take Ashton Youboty CB
20. Chiefs take Tamba Hali DE
21. Pats take Lendale White RB
22. 49ers take Bobby Carpenter OLB
23. Bucs take Marcus McNeil OT
24. Cinci takes Leonard Pope TE
25. Giants take Santonio Holmes WR
26. Bears take Darnell Bing S
27. Panthers take Marcedes Lewis TE
28. Jaquars take Manny Lawson DE/LB
29. Jets take Nick Mangold C
30. Colts take Joseph Addai RB
31. Seahawks take Jonathan Joseph CB
32. Stellers take Laurence Maroney RB
What was traded to move up in the draft has no meaning in the contest!
I think the Vikes will trade with Baltimore for the 13th pick, and take Cutler. The Viking's will give the Ravens our 3rd round 95th pick this year, and or 4th round in 2007, but that part does not effect the contest. What we've got here is failure to communicate.

I'm not going to play because I'm an unlucky guy and this contest is ALL luck.

Ditto man.. I would just rather sit it out and see what happens. Good luck to everyone though.

Put your money where your mouth is!
It takes knowledge, getting to know players talents, and finding out teams needs and moves the team made in FA.
Chickens
I have seen both of you speculating on players the Vikes should draft, so it is time to put your money on the line so to speak! What we've got here is failure to communicate.

One trade in the first 10 picks is enough to totally destroy a mock. I don't like the odds. Team needs and player talents obviously can give hints, but trades and BPA lists offset them equally. Not to mention the hype factor. Players move up and down hype-wise all the time, and teams lie about who they want until they pick. It is a crapshoot."V-Unit" wrote:

I am not trying to discourage others from playing, I think it will be interesting to see who does well and will definetly check the results. My money is on......ltrey?"I hate when threads are destroyed by facts and logic."

Re: Draft challenge for PP.O posters
forgot to list a tie breaker. The tie breaker will be the 1st person that posted his draft.
If 2 people have the same score the person that posted 1st will be the winner. What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Re: Draft challenge for PP.O posters
I'm not going to play, my draft list has too many 'what ifs' involved. It's all over the place depending on how the previous pick goes. This year I went with a spreadsheet that I developed about three months ago and I update it in the evenings depending on what the news of the day is. Yes, I need to get more involved in some of my other hobbies...so far I spent ~2 hrs putting the original version together and about 10 min./day for a grand total of ~8 hrs....what a waste of life. Actually, I plan on using this format for my fantasy drafts, but wanted to give it a dry run in the real draft and see how accurate I can get just for the hell of it...unfortunately my wife is out of town and I have munchkin duty...so I'll have to try it out next year.
What a worthless rant...drank a pot of coffee this morning.
