If we're thinking of moving up the draft, it will be for a QB. I doubt we will move up for a TE or OL.
The only QB I would feel comfortable in moving up for is Leinart, and we would have to be top 3 to get him.

I have a really bad feeling about Vince Young, and I know very little about Jay Cutler, but from what I've read I have gotten contradictory reviews, like on NFLdraftcountdown, I read he is a real gunslinger, but he can't throw the deep ball?, that makes no sense at all. They also make him sound like he'll throw a lot of picks, but learning from Brad Johnson, I suppose he could be made into a good QB.

There are several potentially good QBs in later rounds, Omar Jacobs, DJ Shockley, the QB from Clemson, sorry I don't recall his name right now.

But anyway, I would definitely move up to get Vernon Davis, he's gonna be a stud, he's 6'4 260, and ran the same 40 time as Troy Williamson did. He's like a deep threat reciever, who just happens to be a big tight end.

Winston Justice at the RT position would be great for us, having a big body(6'6 320), who is supposed to get bigger over there, and put Marcus Johnson back to RG where he played all through college and the position we drafted him to play, with Birk at center, and Hutch and McKinnie opposite of them our line would be so nasty.

I am sorry but a 2nd rounder for this guy is a good deal.

    2004 150 Tackles 1 sack 5 INT's

What we've got here is failure to communicate.

    I would gladly do that.

Trade the later 2nd rounder for him and draft someone other than Sims.

With Edwards we could also send another package of picks, including our 2nd rounder to a team with an early pick in the first, such as the 49ers or Bills and draft Vernon Davis or Winston Justice(RT, USC).
Edwards at MLB, Justice at right tackle and move Marcus Johnson back to RG ... man our O-Line would be set for years to come !!!! Then get Croyle or Omar in the second round ... all sounds good to me.

Looks good on paper...would be worth the higher 2nd rounder for sure. But remember, we are gonna have to give this guy a long-term contract...which is why the Chargers are letting him go (they don't want to give him one).
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

If he can be the unquestioned leader in the middle, smart enough and active enough to direct our defensive lineman on shifts and stunts, call audibles and set the tempo sign him up.

If he is just a player filling a position that manages to get 100+ tackles a game then we should have kept Cowart.

It looks good but what if he decides to retire next year? It would be a waste of a 2nd rounder

If he knows the Tampa 2 system and will be with Leber as they will know each other and he can line everyone up correctly ... not to mention, I dont think (correct me if I'm wrong) he's not injury prone, plus Foley knows him. Pay the man and get him in here !!!! He's got plenty of tread left on his tires ... Then we can go RG or RT (depending where they feel Marcus Johson fits more naturally), NickleBack, RB, or even LB depth with our first pick.

    Re: Donnie Edwards Out!?

It scares me that he's a little long in the tooth though. 11 years in the NFL and he's 33 years old. I'm just not sure if he'd be worth giving up a 2nd round pick for, especially if he wants a long term contract (how long can you get if you've been in the league for 11 years?). I know he's good, but it scares me a bit.
