Re: Do we really want B. Johnson as the starter

I agree with VikesfaninWis, I would rather have Brad then a rookie. If we have a rookie get better behind someone like Brad Johnson, I think we could be in great shape at the position as early as the 2007 season. BUT, if we could get another, younger, experienced starting QB, then we should go for it, cause the rookie can still be in a learning position. Brad might be a good start just because we're making so many adjustments on offense and defense. I think he's still got another good year in him to step it up and produce, especially if we don't acquire another QB and the ownership will stand behind him and push him to be a leader for this season. I'm still worried about the position though.

There is always a choice in anything you do.
The Vikings have a multitude of choices
I say go for it and let the ball bounce, Do what it takes to get what we need, The owner said so himself..."Do what it takes to get a Championship
to MN. Hope its not all smoke and mirrors like other previous owners, I beleive in the new ownership and maybe thats why I am so damn excited.

I personally think brad johnson is going to thrieve in this new offense, Brad likes to get the ball off fast the way it is so this offense is only going to make him better with the faster pass routes, not to mention we are going to make the offensive line better.

If I had to choose between a rookie, and BJ then I am going with BJ. If I had to choose BJ, or say Drew Brees, I am going with Brees. Drew Brees is only 27, and his surgeon has already said he will make a 100% recovery from that injury. We need to do something, whatever way you look at it, BJ is not the answer for the future..
agreed..whether we get a rookie or a FA, we need to do something this year that dictates what direction we are going in at QB..i wouldnt object to us giving a 1 year deal to aaron brooks or brian griese, just to bring them in to compete with johnson for the job..while doing that we could still draft a QB to play behind the both of them..if the one year deal guy works out, then get him locked up long term, otherwise let him go and bring up the younger player
I like OLSON_10's Idea but I do not like the Arron Brooks Idea. Greise would be alright for now and fight for the job but I to want a good young Rookie who can be the face of the MN VIKINGS
