Detroit to pull a double-trade-down?!!!
DETROIT TO PULL A DOUBLE TRADE DOWN?
There's a theory making the rounds in league circles that the Detroit Lions could pull off a rare move from the No. 2 overall spot in the draft.
First, there's a belief that the Lions eventually will trade the pick to the Browns, flip-flopping with Cleveland the No. 2 and No. 3 selections.
The Browns would use the No. 2 pick to snare Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn.
Second, the Lions would hold an auction at No. 3 for the rights to receiver Calvin Johnson.
Potential candidates include the Bucs at No. 4, the Redskins at No. 6, the Vikings at No. 7,
and the Falcons at No. 8.

Is this like a regular auction... You just pay money for the pick?

As nice as that sounds, I just couldnt see Detriot, a rival, giving us the opportunity to aquire the best player in the draft this year.

Oooh, that's something that I didn't think of property of. I guess we would then have to pull off a trade with the team that trades for the #3 pick therefore trading our 7 for the 3 from somebody that traded their first rounder for the 3. Right? lol

Re: Detroit to pull a double-trade-down?!!!
How about this strategy?
Trade down to 3.
Trade down to 4.
Trade down to 5.
Trade down to 6.
.....
.....
.....
Trade down to 45.
So, now they'll own the rest of the draft, from 46 to the last draft pick in rd 7.

But now they own more picks than the allowed 53 man roster!

When we stop to think about it, most folks behavior isn't perplexing after all !
