Re: Despite signings, Vikings still in Edwards race
Edwards was a #1 in Cleveland, and when Derek Anderson actually played well that one year, he had almost 1300 yards and 16 td's. I'll take that kind of production from my #1 any day.

he fills our need for a big body receiver with ball skills.
Floyd on the other hand, had topped 700 yards the past two seasons, with 6 and 1 td's respectively. he fits our need for a big body receiver at 6'5", 225, but he's never been a legitimate #1 go-to guy. He's more of a risk at this point than Edwards. in 7 seasons, he's topped 500 yards only twice, with a career high of 6 td catches last season.

Re: Despite signings, Vikings still in Edwards race
Then that lowers his market value. Get him.
A memo to all the HC and GMs in the league.
You can make a team full of role models and team players, but they might not get you very far.
The Pats take gambles on skilled, troubled playmakers, and more often than not, it works very well.
Not alot of teams manage to win it all with 53 players who never have any type of attitude or off-season issues.
The thing is can you controle the player now on the roster.
Haynesworth imo is a no. Guys like Moss, TO, Braylon, etc. I think can be controlled with the right coach.

Re: Despite signings, Vikings still in Edwards race
I would take Edwards or Floyd. People are worried about Edwards because of his issues. People are worried about Floyd because of his production.
Personally I don't give a rats ass about production so to speak. Floyd will be a guy that will stretch the field which will amount to better runs from AP (provided the OL is better) and opens up the middle for Harvin, Shank, Rudolph, AP, Booker, etc....
If the Vikes get Floyd, he may not be all that productive initially. However as the Vikings get potent in the run and short passing plays in the middle it will open up the deep threat and Floyd would get his. Plus, he'd be less expensive than Edwards.
Edwards would be nice but do the Vikings want to deal with his off field antics? He would probably be productive right away which I won't complain about either.
If the Vikes were smart they'd somehow get rid of that lazy ass McKinnie and his fat salary which would free up more room for even another lineman for depth and one of these WRS.
Just my two cents.

How long before TO is rehabbed?

I'd be fine with us taking a chance on him. These Diva guys often are quiet for the first year or two. Hopefully after that he'll have matured a bit. If not, cut his arse.

McNabb had the best year of his career with TO in 04, I bet they could get past there differences.
