Dear Cincinnatti, We'll take Chad Johnson....
While the media is doing it's level best to paint Chad Johnson as a team-killing cancer ridden problem child, I have to wonder exactly WHY they are doing so.
What Chad does is perform.
Day in, day out, Chad Performs.
Sure, he celebrates...sometimes excessively, sometimes inappropriately...but what else does he do wrong?
He doesn't get arrested.
His "posse" doesn't shoot bouncers.
He doesn't parade his dirty laundry in front of the media.
He doesn't posture.
He simply performs.
And Cincy - with the assistance of the media - is acting like he's the problem.
SEND HIM HERE!!!
We'll give you our 2nd rounder this year, you give us Chad, and we'll "struggle" to cope with the TD celebrations.

Re: Dear Cincinnatti, We'll take Chad Johnson....
Very nice post Caine.
Is he even up for a 2nd? i don't think so but he could...
Would be a great asset as he's more of a proven WR then Berrian ( which i'm not sure about... got a nasty feeling ) it's the same as with the Allen trade, you Draft your insuranceRosie O'Donnell is a dude!

We don't have the compensation to give up to get him.

He gets into a fight with a coach in the locker room.
He sulks and whines and complains - even though when he signed his contract, he was being paid at the top of the pay-scale at the time.
No thank you, I'd rather have no distractions at all.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: Dear Cincinnatti, We'll take Chad Johnson....
I highly doubt they'd give him up for a 2nd, otherwise he'd be gone by now i'm sure.
They made it quite clear they will not be dealing Chad.
However, I agree with your point.
I think he'd be a great pickup, and his attitude is bettter than Moss' was.
Chad hasn't gotten fined for off-field behaviour (that I'm aware of).
He hasn't bumped a traffic cop with his car, squirted water at a ref, or even gotten arrested (From the Bengals, thats impressive, I know)
I think his celebrations and "me-first" attitude would be a small price to pay IF he could be the missing piece to our offense.
If you think Berrian would open up the offense, imagine what Chad could do.

Re: Dear Cincinnatti, We'll take Chad Johnson....
My only problem with all of this is the fact that if the Bengals cave and let him go at this stage of his contract, then we will see a huge rush of players every year whinning to get out of thier contract and using the excuse that they just want to win, when all they really want is to be paid.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

I agree with you on this one Z. He is definitely a distraction on that team. I will pass on him personally."Caine" wrote:

Re: Dear Cincinnatti, We'll take Chad Johnson....
That is what I try to explain to everybody. He never disses teammates like a TO and never takes plays off like a Randy. He just likes to have fun, thats it. And all of his trash talking he does is all for fun. None of the players he plays against and jaws at dislike him.
He gives 100% every play, is an all pro reciever, and just wants to win...

Re: Dear Cincinnatti, We'll take Chad Johnson....
I actually like Chad Johnson, but I think he has done a piss poor job of handling his frustrations with the organization.
If he could be gotten for as little as a second rounder, then I would be willing to take the risk.
Marrdro is right, it is about the money more than anything else.
But it is a moot point.
The Bengals are not going to deal him, and I support their decision in the matter.Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?
