Daunte Culpepper is getting a workout with the 49ers, per a league source.

49ers could add Daunte Culpepper to QB competition

Re: Daunte Culpepper hires agent to try NFL comeback

Culpepper worked out at the team's facility in Santa Clara on Monday morning but did not sign with the Niners
NFL Network reported Monday night that a Niners deal with Culpepper, while possible, was unlikely to occur this week.

I heard that the 9rs was a done deal. Wonder what happened. Dante can't be holding out for more money can he?

    As someone said.....

I think that he has finally hired an agent, bodes well. I wish him the best as long as it isn't against us.

The Niners could probably use him so hope it works out, the mind boggles why they keep going with the bust Alex Smith.

If McNabb can do it.....so can Culpepper.

Personally, I don't think there is intelligent life on other planets. Why should other planets be any different from this one?

The delay may be on the 49er's side. If a vested veteran is on the roster come game 1, his salary is fully guaranteed for the year. They may be looking to add him to the roster after that date to avoid the guaranteed salary. I am almost positive this clause remained in the new CBA.

Seeeeeeeee.......this is exactly what I miss when cats like you don't post.

Probably what is going on. Problem that lead to confusion on my part was the articles out there that said the 9rs are ready to make an offer but Pepp is the one holding back.

My guess, those hacks are off the mark.

On a side note. I'm loving all the PPO posters of old crawling out of the wood work to post. Been along time since I've seen this many good discussions going on.

Re: Daunte Culpepper hires agent to try NFL comeback

Always loved Daunte, he gave me a ton of great memories as a Viking fan, and if he can find a team to take him and he can succeed again, more power to him (as long as that success isn't against us!!!)

Wouldn't want to see him back on the Vikes though.
