Darrell Jackson available?

Yes, it's more off-season speculation, but this one makes sense (PA & Dubay were just talking about it on the radio).Seahawks' Ruskell dismisses notion that Jackson is on the block

P-I REPORTER
INDIANAPOLIS -- The Seahawks wouldn't trade their leading receiver, would they?
It all depends on the draft-choice compensation another team might be willing to part with to acquire Darrell Jackson.
Jackson is available, sources said Sunday at the NFL scouting combine. But club president Tim Ruskell labeled the situation "combine talk" and stressed that nothing is imminent.
"We get a lot of interest at the combine, people asking about our players," Ruskell said. "We'll listen to anything, but it doesn't mean we're going to do anything.
"In terms of Darrell, he's under contract and we plan on having him back. That's where that stands."
The Seahawks put a tender offer on DJ Hackett (he's a RFA) which gives them compensation of a 1st and a 3rd if someone signs him.
That's a hefty price tag for a young guy, unless you have big plans for him.
They have made it prohibitively expensive to sign Hackett.
They also have Deion Branch and Nate Burleson under big contracts - so Darrell Jackson might be the odd man out.
Due $3.2million in 2007, he's 30 (I think) and has been injured a bit the past couple years.
The rumors say he could might only fetch a 4th-round pick in return.
Now - check this scenario....the Vikes trade down from #7 to mid-first-round, picking up some extra picks, including a mid-3rd-round extra (or 2?) as part of the package.
Would you trade that sort of pick for a guy who had 10 TDs in 13 games last year for Seattle?
I would - in a heartbeat.
Just more off-season name-tossing, but this is a scenario I heartily endorse.

Re: Darrell Jackson available?
Would Seattle trade with us after the Hutchinson & Burleson fiasco of lat year?
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

The rigors of Spartan life. Leonidas is cast out into the wild, and survives the harsh winter to return to his home, when he is crowned King ....a Viking!

And, yes, I think they'll trade with whoever gives them the best deal.
They don't play the Vikings in 2007, which is another minor plus.
