How many picks was it exactly? What type of contract would be needed? How many players would need to be cut to make room?
probably none, we've never exactly been in a bad cap situation.

Cutler is a whiney pussy anyways, he needs to stop pouting.
A good qb, but apparently has the maturity of a 7 year old.

Here is the Yahoo story Powers is referring to...a lot of speculation.

Cutler hurting more than Broncos with behavior

But after talking to a variety of personnel sources over the past 10 days, a handful of facts have emerged:

• Before Tampa was involved in a potential three-way trade for Cutler, Minnesota was actually the first team to become engaged in talks for the quarterback. McDaniels acknowledged Tuesday that another team had inquired about Cutler prior to Tampa Bay’s interest, but he declined to name that team. A personnel source confirmed it was the Vikings. According to two league sources, the Vikings would have shipped draft picks to Denver for Cutler, and Denver would have turned around and sent picks to New England for Cassel. However, the deal fell apart early on, after some elements in the Minnesota coaching staff weren’t entirely sold on Cutler.
Still not specific on the which picks, but come on..."weren’t entirely sold on Cutler"???

This story seems to at least have a little more credibility than the first.
At least there seems to be some logic behind it.
If this report is true, Chilly should lose his job if we don't win at least one playoff game and finish in the top 15 in passing offense.

If we did pass on Cutler for a decent price (a couple of picks for a Pro Bowl QB), TJ or Rosenfels better play like they are the second coming of John Elway this season.

Seriously though, Chilly must have realized Cutler would fizzle in his offense like every other QB and then Chiller would be considered a QB killer and finally lose his job.
At least by keeping TJ and Sage around he can still use the "learning curve" excuse.
Rock out with your cock out!!!

People need to stop overreacting and calling for Chilldress's head.

1) We don't know what the asking price was. Multiple 1st rounds? A first and a third? Who knows.
2) We don't know if Childress was the one who wasn't sold on Cutler.
3) We don't even know if this report is true.
The timing of it is weird, since we had just traded for Sage.
I would have been shocked if our FO was engaged in two QB trade talks at the same time, especially if it would have decimated our draft (when we really need those picks to address some position issues).
Even if it was a first and a third, that would have meant we lost our first, third, and fourth this year.
Don't see that happening.

I personally think this report is BS.

Nowhere in the article does it say, the price was too high, NOWHERE!!!!!! It DOES say this brilliant coaching staff thought Cutler wasn't good enough.
I like TJ, but this should be enough to get this entire staff banished from football, alla Mike Lynn.
Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.
