wat is up with all the smoot haters!? smoot has been hurt! he is 1 of our best corners when healthy. so no more smoot smack unless he does something really dumb. and the boat was a great idea from him
Tied for 3rd yes, but he had only 2!

He ran has mouth too much and we did not get a good return on him.

He is not one of the best when healthy. He is solid, but please watch a game and then comment.

Yes, lets cut a player 1 year into a six year contract and take approximatly 10 million cap hit, that would be smart

Give him more than several games to showcase he can play. Brian Williams had the starting spot for a year and a half, and yet we felt the need to bring in a better corner, so it isn't like he was getting it done.

I dont Smoots actions off the field but I dont think a lot of people have given him a chance here. He had one good game against the pack and then got hurt. I say we keep for another year see if he shapes up keep him. If not let him go or see if we could trade him.

I agree, cutting him wouldn't be smart at this point in time. Let's hope he won't be in trouble off the field next year and not pull some of the stuff he has so far. He has already said he wants to clear his name and reshape his image. He said this around the time the 'sex boat' charges were announced.

If Smoot could ball 1/2 as well as he can talk he'd be a phenom....

That 's a good idea let us cut the guy we have under contract for someone who does not want to be on this team anymore I can see how that is a smart thing to do.

I doubt he will take a pay cut. If we were to lose him we would most likely trade him because that is way too much of a cap hit.

Geeeze all these posts about getting rid of all the FA we picked up on D last year. Our D played pretty well. Smoot is a good player, Cowart is a good player. The reason Sharper was making INT's is partly because Smoot was doing his job. I remember before Smoot got here all the calls for BWills head on a platter. If I had to guess, I think we are going to pretty much keep the D we have this year together and maybe bring in another outside linebacker and a lineman. I think the secondary is pretty much set and will do much better next year.
