Vikings brought in Charlie Whitehurst to Winter Park. Anyone know anything about him? From ESPN:
"EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings had another college quarterback in for a predraft visit. They met with Clemson's Charlie Whitehurst at their Winter Park facility on Wednesday.
Whitehurst holds 40 school records, including yards passing, completions and touchdown passes. The son of former Green Bay Packers quarterback David Whitehurst, he had minor arthroscopic shoulder surgery about 3½ weeks before the Tigers' win in the Champs Sports Bowl over Colorado.
The Vikings had Vanderbilt's Jay Cutler, a projected first-round pick, in for a visit Tuesday. Whitehurst is projected by most draft analysts to go in the third round. Coach Brad Childress has said the team is interested in drafting a young quarterback and developing him behind veteran Brad Johnson."
Interesting statistic but,
name one other quarterback playing in the NFL out of Clemson, or one other one that was succesful in the NFL at any time
Kinda SUBJECTIVE, don't you think? I guess because Jerry Rice was so successful in the NFL this means that we should draft a WR out of Mississippi Valley State every year. A college team doesn't have to be a football factory to turn out good players...Matt Millen, for example, is a huge fan of drafting from these "factories"...doesn't seem to have gotten him anywhere.
But to answer your question...
Steve Fuller, who was a 1st round draft choice of the Chiefs in the late 70s...had a couple of fairly successful seasons with them (statwise anyway) and he also won a playoff game with the Bears in late 1984 against Washington.

Steve Fuller, 1st round pick of the Chiefs in the late 70s...was moderately successful as a starter his first couple of years
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE
