Re: Could Vikings Trade Out of the First Round Entirely?

Not sure why this seems to be catching on with folks.

I wonder to what end trading down will do?
Guess they believe we have more holes on our roster that I do.

Again, we currently have 2 roster spots open (RB/FB) and a percieved need at QB, DT, RT, WR and CB.

With the starters we have coming back from next year I only see one or two kids drafted at those positions making the roster.

CB - Only if Gordon isn't 100% and McCauley is shitcanned.
WR - Gonna be tough but a guy could slip in over either AA or Holt.
RT - Seems to be the consensus pick for making the roster.
DT - Cat could make the team if the Wall is gonna be gone for 4 games.

    We have picks in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and two 7ths.
The first 3 cats will have a good shot at making the team.
The rest of the draft picks, well not so much.

Only rationale I could see for trading down out of the first is to garner more picks for next year and then, that really is stretching it.

Someone help me understand why I am missing the mark here.

Yeah, I'm not seeing the logic in this one either.

If things don't go the way we expect in the draft, and we can trade out of the first round and get a early second round pick, I wouldn't mind us grabbing Loadholt. Trading down will still give us three picks in the first three rounds. Many interesting angle's to this draft, thanks for the article Marrdro.

Don't see us trading out, but I see us moving down to pick up more picks

Again, not picking on you GG, however, why?
What are we gonna use the additional picks for?

I feel we will use our first round pick unless there is a trade in the works for a QB or a certain wide receiver.
