Could Donte Stallworth be a Viking?

NFL Network Total Access reported that there is a very good chance that Stallworth is going free agent by the UFA period. Philidelphia and us are very similar in our offense WCO, Stallworth is better then any receiver we got and we need a reciever.
I think we should sign him.

    Should we sign him?

First off, this belongs in the FA/Offseason Forum.

Secondly, please do not phrase your posts to make it sound like something HAS happened - maybe say something like "Could Donte Stallworth become a Viking?". Otherwise, it tends to confuse people.

Lastly, I would NOT mind seeing him in Purple - he is pretty fast and would fit in well!

I'm not a big fan. He sure gets injured a lot. That being said, he IS better than anyone we got. So yeah, Sign him and Bennett. They won't be a fearsome tandem, but at least we could have SOME expectations that a reciever can actually recieve. Go get em, and draft another.

It is a strong possibility to get him, but Drew Bennett?
    No way.
We can draft better WR than Bennett.

I'm with you Shock on this one... I get a little tired of seeing misleading thread titles to make it appear that we already signed someone.. If I didn't know any better, reading this thread title, I would have thought that we signed Stallworth already..

I would like to see Stallworth in Purple for sure but he's going to be asking for a lot of money. I would like to see them address this through the draft.

is stallworth worthy of playing in purple?

    well let's see, in 2006, he had;

725 rec. yds - our leader had 651 (t. taylor)

5 td - our leader had 4, and he's already been cut (m. robinson)

longest rec of 84 yds - our leader had a 50 yd grab, and that was a rb (moore)

oh yeah, and all these came in just 11 games last year.

i think he might be worthy of playing here. just maybe.

Most def. should sign him if it comes down to it!! If we adressed WR in the draft, plus had a decent guy like Stallworth on the lineup.. our offense MIGHT be semi-functionable

I wouldn't mind having him but, I'd rather have Bennett to be honest, Bennett could become a more reliable target and he isn't as injury prone as Stallworth. Stallworth has had drop troubles in the past if I'm not mistaken, we don't need any more.
