    Grab Laws or Merling

    Address OT with No.17

Package a bunch of late picks to Miami for the first pick in the third.
Get a 3rd round stack including Brian Johnston, Early Doucet (best WR), and best S available...Zibikowski? DeCoud? Barret? Steltz?
Maybe even skip the WR and get another DL prospect...Avril?
    Chris Ellis?
    Okam?
I'm starting to worry about OT availablity at 17.
No DE worth taking, No OT worth taking.
Gonna be ugly if one of the OT's don't slip or Merling is there and his hernia isn't healed.
    trade dooooooooown
or we could see some people on here really excited.....Brian Brohm
At least we'd have something to talk about.

The only way that would get scary is if the guys who think Brohm can start right away get to yacking with the guys who think TJ sucks.

Us guys/gals who have a eye on the future won't say a thing.
We will just let those two factions entertain us.

Re: Could the Chargers be a potential draft day trade partner for the Vikings?

    LOL!!
Would certainly make for pages of repetive argument
    ;D

Seems everybody is high on OT this year.
Wonder how many of them are full of shit.
I still think some of those teams will hope for the depth at OL in the 2nd, and snag the guy they really want in the first to fill an immediate need.

DEN has a habit of drafting undersized, late round OL and a huge need for defensive upgrades and depth.

CAR could also use Harvey or a top end RB.

CHI does not currently have a WR capable of becoming a No.1 on its roster.

KC could go QB with Matt Ryan.

DET might have the biggest OL need, but they seem all about skill positions with a new lean to defense.

ARI has addressed OL early two years in a row, and also has CB, RB and possibly S needs.

So, maybe, big run on OL, maybe not.
My deal is that if it isn't there in the first, the selection will likely look even worse in the second.
I'm pretty big on getting a more athletic OT with better pass blocking skills, I guess I'm OK with a slight reach if it makes sure we get the right one.

Let's face it, all nine draft picks won't make the roster, so why not make less picks but at better spots?
    Don't tell Marrdro that!!!!

Your just cracking me up now.
    ;D

I've been telling everyone that Spielman (and not the Chiller) will be moving all over the draft board for about 2 months now.
    ;D

Heck I even have gone so far as to say he will package picks and move up as well as moving down and get us more picks for next year, just like he did last year.

i would be all for it, get a DE and an OT in the 1st, trade our 2nd and 3rd for it. Could get Chris Williams or Jeff Otah with the 17th pick, then get Groves with the 27th pick, i would go insane if we could pull that off.
If this would happen, i would probably be the happiest person in the world

i know, im just buggin about that thread we had going awhile back about trading up, some people were all for trading up in the 1st, and you were countering the arguments saying how you love that we have 9 picks, and they will all make the roster and so on....
    believe me, its there.

Re: Could the Chargers be a potential draft day trade partner for the Vikings?

With the new trade chart that came out a few days ago, it would cost us a 3rd and 5th to trade
firsts with the Bills (#11). I think that would make a lot of sense, because we could grab either Harvey or Chris Williams (both of which are almost certainly to be gone at #17), and the Bills could get extra picks and still get a CB or WR that they need. I would be ecstatic if we moved up for Chris Williams, traded our second for Jason Taylor, and then drafted Brian Johnston and Kevin O'Connell in the 3rd and 4th rounds.

I am still pissed that the Vikings didn't make the play for Chambers last year. He would have been a better option than Berrian and we wouldn't have had to shell out all of the free agency money as he is under contract through 2009 with only a 30 million dollar contract. Oh well.

Berrian is faster, younger and we kept a 2nd round pick.
