I think you guys missed the most "troublesome" line in all the interviews. It's this:
Q: How are the new guys like Bernard Berrian and Thomas Tapeh fitting in?

A: I think they’ve done a nice job of fitting in. Bernard, the reason we brought him in here is to catch the football, one, and to get behind the defense. He’s been able to do that a few times. He’s still working to learn the offense. He’s a pro at it; he’s picked it up very quickly. Tapeh, he’s lucky that he’s been in a similar system. It’s been a pretty easy, seamless transition for him to come in, and I’ve seen him do a nice job. The only thing with that position is we’re not hitting anybody, and we’ll have to wait to see whether he wants to go in there and bang his head against a wall.

Might Tapeh not be a good blocker?
I think you may be reading that line wrong.

He's not saying that Tapeh is shying away from contact or anything.
They just aren't allowed to run any contact drills, so it's hard to judge a guy whose position is basically about hitting someone as hard as you can every play.

As VikingsTW mentioned, Tapeh has been a solid blocker in the past.
    I expect more of that.

That would probably set a new record for the team with the most players on active roster who had done that.

They didn't have AA return punts last year, so I'm inclined to think that he will see very limited action there. I think we will see alot of Hicks and AA on kickoffs. Gordon is an intriguing candidate. Has he ever returned punts before? A slew of young guys is my bet, with JJ the leading candidate. In order for one of the slew of young guys to return punts they first would have to make the active roster. That sounds like we will have a young guy make the roster(6 WRS).
I hope so but I doubt it.
It'll be 5 WR's again this year for the 3rd year in a row.
    Metrics/data/analysis will prove me right.
    ;D

Besides, your boy just might beat out Ferg this year for that 5th roster spot.
If not he will be relegated to the practice squad till about mid-2/3rds of the season.

I sure hope so. This would be the ultimate senerio IMO. I don't think anybody would lose any sleep if Ferg gets cut.

Mainly...I hope Wade isn't back there returning punts this year. He looks scared out of his mind every time he goes to catch a punt.

There are 3 positions I'm really going to watch closely this year. LB, OL, and WR. Do Erin, lehman, Rufus get on the roster, or is it Popes to lose? Do we keep both Sulivan and Mozes in looking to next year? Or do we keep Hicks/M-Johnson for back-up OT because of Mckinnie? Is Ferg a lock or does JJ have a chance to beat him out? Or will we go with 6. All the other positions are pretty cut and dried as to who will be there.

Lets not forget, injuries forced the coaches to shift the roster a bit which lead to B-wade stepping in when needed.

Instead of getting all mad at B-wade and the Coaches, I find it comforting that we have the flexibility to adjust to situations like that and to still perform with little or no drop off.
