Complete vikings off season

    Resign:
    Koren Robinson WR
Played really good last season and he went to the pro bowl! He knows the West Coast Offence and will be a key player next season, whit or whit out Culpepper

    Lance Johnstone DE
Are a really good player on pass plays led the team in sacks late year and since 2003 he has been one of the players whit most sacks.

    Melvin Fowler C
Started due to Brik´s injury and played good. Will be back as back-up.

    Nate Burleson WR
Had lot of injuries but are a really good WR. He fits the WCO well

    Paul Edinger PK
Was really good when the game was on the line but at shot kick he failed! He will maybe be back

    Ralph Brown CB
Played as a dime and sometimes nickel. Did an all right job.

    Raonall Smith LB
Played a lot of specials team and maybe will get a new start in the Cover 2

    Toniu Fonoti OG
Only played less than one game but I think he will be resign. We need a good line next year! So Pepper or Brad have the time to find an open guy and make some hulls to the Back

    Willie Offord S
Also played a lot of ST and maybe he will start next season as SS

    Michael Bennett RB
Unfortunately he will be back because Childress was his coach in college

    Let go:
    Brian Williams CB
Played really good but wants to start and that is not in Minnesota

    Corey Chavous S
Did a good job, but nothing extraordinary. He wants out of the twin city

    Cory Withrow C
Have been a back-up all time and Vikings lets him go because of Fowler

    Keith Newman LB
Was maybe the best LB last year BUT he is not a Cover 2 guy.

    Moe Williams RB (retires

    Sam Cowart LB
    To slow to cover 2!

    Shaun Hill QB
I will maybe try to get a 2. Spot somewhere

    FA signs:
    Edgerrin James
    Fits Childress’s offence perfect!

    Will Witherspoon
Will be the new OLB in the cover 2

    Jon Runyan
He knows Childress and can play at leas tone year more

    DRAFT

Trade: Vikings trades there 1 and 4 to Bears for 1 and 2
    1. Ernie Sims OLB FSU
We be the last LB we need'

    2. Donte Whitner SS Ohio St.
New SS is needed and he knows Fox. Maybe a future top pair at S

    2. Davin Joseph OG Oklahoma
Depht at the line is need. Maybe a future starter

    3. Charlie Whitehurst QB Clemson
We need a back-up if pepper is going to be traded or when brad a retiring

    5. Lawrence Vickers FB Colorado
He can catch, run and block. All the wco asks of a FB

    6. Aaron Harris ILB Texas
Will give depth to ILB and he knows the cover 2

    What do you think

    Thank to Lotza

great post...ui agree with you on most parts...i just hope it goes like this, but unfortunately i think it's either k-rob or burleson...i don't think we can resign both of them...i'd also like to let corey withrow go and resign melvin fowler...i'd like us to keep coward and newman as well....i just hope they resign fonoti, we need him

Not bad. Some of those things are far fetched. Childress will probably not resign Bennett. Just because he played at Wisconsin doesn't make him a shoe in for this team.

While it's possible that we can sign Edgerin James, Will Whitherspoon, and Jon Runyan, I don' know if we will go after all of them. We need to address the OL, LB's, and SS positions first and foremost.

I am not sure on the status of Paul Edinger. I am not sure if that is the kind of K that Childress wants in his system. He is very sparatic. He did hit alot of big time FG's, but he missed alot of what he should have easily of made. I believe we will go after a K on the lines of Vanderjagt, Vinatari, or Longwell. I like Vanderjagt out of those. I wouldn't be opposed to resigning Edinger though.

Chavous, and B-Will will leave via FA. We may try to resign one of them, but I believe both want to leave. If we keep B-Will we will probably try and convince him to play SS. I am not to sure he wants to do that. Look for them to go after Archuleta, or Dexter Jackson seeing as though he played with Tomlin in Tampa.

Good ideas though man. Some of it is realistic, while others are not even close. All in all, a very make shift list..

Good effort! I hope that the Vikes find a way to convince BWill to play SS...I think that he is a better hitter than Chavous...we just gotta pay him like a CB.

Pretty good job there. I agree that some is far fetched. One thing.. I will be SO mad if we draft whitehurst. He SUCKS. Has anyone watched him for four years like me? each year he was picked ACC player of the year and each year he sucked even more. This guy is HORRIBLE. Worst pick possible.

    ancoin,

First let me say, one of the nicest laid out post I've ever seen here...I know that took some work..

You also suprised me, because you have a pick not mentioned often around here that I like very much....If still there in the 4th round or beyond, I'de be quick to grab Whitehurst QB out of Clemson...

I've seen him play and he has a solid foundation in the way he plays that would really fit nice to a WCO based offense..

He has a guick release, nice footwork, and he's got some wheels to boot....

I'm sort of suprised he doesn't get more recognition than he does..

    Thanks for the fine thread...

I agree with the others, nice set up you have here ancoin! I really hope you are right about resigning Burleson. I know some have said that they can't keep both Burleson and Robinson, it's such a toss up for me because I love both of them.
