    Re: ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK

Both of ours are realistic bra..

We really need a RB.. We need some weapons on O..

We need o-lineman.. So yah we both agree on Bentley.

Archuleta wouldn't be a good cover 2 fit.. I would just keep Chavous.. And Harrison is getting older and would want a big contract..

I think we have lots of young talent at LB.. Napo didn't get much of a shot really.. We have better coaches.. I think EJ, Newman, Napo, And DT could get the job done but yah it would be nice to add a LB

Wow I didn't look at Lavar's salary.. SCREW THAT!

And I think Witherspoon with get signed back to the Panthers..

Peterson wants a lot of money too..

Do u all think we should offer out alot of money for a LB? I mean our D was pretty good last year.. Don't need that big of an upgrade IMO

yeah, but our LBs don't have the speed to fit a Cover 2 decently.

Yeah, Lavar is far too expensive. I think that we realistically need a Linebacker this offseason. Having EJ, Napo, and Dontarrious is not gonna cut it in the NFL. We need a fast Middle Linebacker and good outside guys. Get the best MLB available in the draft and pick up Akin Ayodele or Will Witherspoon.

I think we have enough speed.. Just need better coaches..

EJ should move back to middle.. He has developed nicely..

DT and Napo on the outsides..

But yah we should look at upgrading.. If not I think we can get by with what we have

If he gets cut, his contract is void and you could renegotiate, but he will want a lot of money.

The other thing is that I think the market is going to make these players cheaper this year if the CBA doesn't get done. I think that it will get done at the very last minute so this is a lot of time and speculation for not. If I was one of these players on the list above, I would be calling Upshaw and telling him I will see him at his front door at 12:01 am Friday morning with a baseball bat if the deal doesn't get done over a few percentages.

I think last night I heard the players and owners didn't come up with an agreement and no more further talks? I could be wrong I guess it was late

Upshaw can't do this! There is still a possibility of extending FA, I think, if it doesn't get done.

I was thinking the same thing Snow. If these guys all hit the market like they're expect too because of cap problems, that means there won't be nearly as many teams looking to pick them up because they know they don't have cap space to pay for them. I think that will result in a bidding war over a select few from the teams that have the most money, but other than that I expect the value of all of these guys to come DOWN because there won't be as much cash to throw around by every team.
