Childress silences naysayers (me included !)
I have to admit, I was a doubter and I questioned Childress. But "Chilly" has shut me up and proved me wrong. How ?
Consider the past week:
a. We got the NFL sack leader at DE (Allen), which solved our DE need
b. We drafted USC QB John Booty today - a QB who can read a defense and who has real NFL mechanics - QB issue SOLVED.
;D
c. We drafted a center to - eventually - replace Matt Birk. Again, nice
d. Ok. we drafted a safety (like we needed another one). But this one is a Roy Williams- type who supports the run very well.
Overall, I would have to say, this has been a STELLAR week for the Vikings, and for Brad Childress.
This team is now ready for the Super Bowl run.

I hope that Tyrell is not like Roy Williams...we need a safety that can cover too.
As to the meat of your post, Childress can't take all the credit here, as Marrdro will tell you.
The entire front office, including owner Zygi Wilf and the rest of the gang, all deserve credit for making this offseason happen.
The other thing you forgot to mention was the UDFA class that we are bringing in.
I really like a lot of those guys.
Glad to see that you are optimistic, as most of us are, for the upcoming season.

Again, as Marrdro has stated several times, Childress does not make the picks or sign the players. He has input, but that is all.
In fact, Childress wasn't even at the draft in New York. He was right at Winter Park.

So was everyone else, they have some people in New York, all they need to do is say whoever the Vikings want to pick and when they trade up and down and such.. Both Spielman and Childress and proberly Studwell was at Winter Park..
Spielman runs the draft, but i dont think he would draft a player that Childress didnt want..

agreed.
what Roy Williams posesses in run support, he lacks in pass coverage.
I would never want Roy Williams on our defense, ESPECIALLY in the cover 2, where the safety is expected to cover a whole half of the field.

Childress was at Winter Park at the draft party. Spielman & Studwell were more than likely in NY
