Vikings | Washburn claimed off waivers
    Sun, 30 Apr 2006 19:29:22 -0700

Kevin Seifert, of the Star Tribune, reports the Minnesota Vikings claimed OL Cliff Washburn off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys.

Anybody think that Childress is comitted to fixing our O-line?

All out competition! Marcus Johnson isn't assured anything, hopefully he took his offseason seriously, for that matter neither is McKinnie's. Birk and Hutch, are about the only guys that I see as certain starters for leadership and monetary reasons.

Not saying these guys will get beat out, but hopefully it will make them compete at the TOP of their games.

I hate to go against you, but McKinney is a sure a starter as Birk, and Hutch..Just like now Hicks is the starter at RG.. Depth, and good depth at that is always a good thing when it comes to the lines.

All I was saying, is that Childress is giving the message that no job is safe.

I would put money on the fact that it will be McKinnie, Hutch and Birk on the left, but that is not the illusion that Childress and Co are putting out. I think the coaches and players have been too complacent the last few years. I don't think that anyone in competition should be assured they are starters. They all earn it. The coaches and Fans can assume they know who will be starting, but the players shouldn't, JMHO.
