    Re: Cherepinsky's Mock

I think NO could go there.
Actually, looks like S is listed on a lot of those teams?

What do you guys think about the Dallas trade possibility?
That would sure throw a wrench in everyone's mocks!

    Walter said this:
First, however, I want to address the rumor that Dallas is interested in the No. 1 overall pick. It's not happening. If there are rumors that a deal is in the works, it's probably not true. Who would leak something like that to the media? Besides, if the Cowboys really want Darren McFadden, they don't need to move all the way up the draft board. A swap with the Rams would be more likely, though improbable. Dallas would just have to give up too much. The Saints suffered for years after dealing all of their picks for Ricky Williams. It's just not worth it. Moving on...
I actually think it could happen.
First of all, there is Parcells over in Miami signing all sorts of Dallas employees without any complaints.
    Wink, wink.
Nudge, nudge on the Ireland and Sparano hires?
Second, Dallas has two first round picks.
Jones' alma mater is where McFadden went to school, and he has publicly hailed the kid's abilities.
Add to this Miami's needs (everywhere) and say, Marion Barber or maybe even Terry Glenn...and you might just have a deal.

I think Phillips will be taken as the BPA somewhere in the top 10, and Reggie Smith won't make it past NO, who have needs at CB.
I just don't see him playing safety when he has the skill to play CB.

Those team needs are what I put in there and in most cases, I have them in order of need.

    I don't remember anything on NO needing a S.
    Might have missed something though.

Actually I like the idea of Dallas going out and taking McFadden early. From a mock standpoint it simplifies alot of things further down as your top pick (Defense) now shifts all other defensive picks at least 1 pick lower which will in turn move several offensive guys around.

I was looking at him more as a S based on the scouting reports I've read.

Poor Al Davis. He loves flashy players, but Darren McFadden is off the board. He'd want Howie Long's son to help his team return to its glory days, but I have him going to the Rams.
    ...
I have trouble agreeing with any mock when the author doesn't even remember his #1 overall pick.

You might have missed it because of the size of the font.
I bolded it for ya just in case.

Anyway, I agree, we don't need another CB, I was ranking his value as a S not a corner as most of the scouting reports have him.

    Re: Cherepinsky's Mock

I don't agree with everyone of the picks. Looking at his mock draft, I would rather take Fred Davis, TE from USC over Hardy. We have two 3rd round picks and could get an efficient WR there, but to get a TE, like Davis, would be impossible.
