Free agent cornerback Tony Beckham still has not found a new football home with training camp three weeks or so away for most teams.
Beckham and long snapper Jon Dorenbos are the only remaining
players from the Tennessee Titans’ list
of unrestricted free agents not to sign with a new team.
According to agent Ron Slavin, the Minnesota Vikings called recently about Beckham and have him at the top of their emergency list. The Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts remain interested in Beckham as a contingency plan as well.
“Several teams have called and told me that he is at the top of their lists,†Slavin said. “I’d like to get him into training camp with someone soon.â€Â
Beckham, a fourth-round pick of the Titans in 2002 from Division III Wisconsin-Stout, held down a starting cornerback job with the Titans at the start of training camp last season while first-round pick Adam “Pacman†Jones was holding out.
Beckham started two of the first three games of the 2005 regular season at right cornerback, but moved out of the starting lineup in favor of Jones beginning in week four against the Colts.
Beckham finished his four years with the Titans with one interception, which came in 2003.
He tore the ACL in his right knee during mini-camps before the 2004 season, but successfully rehabbed the injury in time to play in five games that year.

I'm trying to come up with a "Bend it like" joke, but it's just not coming.
Suffice to say, his wife is a skank, and I'll leave it at that.

it'll be intersting to see if we do grab him.. i don' think he's gonna be much more then a backup or even prac squad if we do. probably he'll get picked up if someone looses a player in pre-season

Not exactly exciting news, but it's good to know they have a backup plan.

Why just dont use Gallishaw or Ward for this..

Apparently they didn't like Gallishaw or ward because they cut them. I thought that Gallishaw had some potential ans was surprised when they cut him but they most have thought that they were not a good fit for the team or the Cover 2 defense.

Gallishaw or Ward do not fit the defense to well. One of the main components is having cornerbacks making alot of tackles. This is why Smoot bulked up and we drafted Griffen over Ashton Youboty.

 What does his wife have to do with Beckhams playing ability?
They're looking at signing him, not his wife.
Just out of curiosity, what makes you think she's a skank anyways?
Re: CB Tony Beckham at the top of Vikings emergency list?
He would be a solid player to sign and add depth should Fox or someone else falter.
Re: CB Tony Beckham at the top of Vikings emergency list?
I say pass on him.. We have enough players vying for playing time as it stands.. Let someone else grab him..
