I've been watching this and I think IBP is somewhat close with his estimate.

I think we will see another cap casualty or restructuring of contracts because we still need a wideout and a safety.

I hope you are right. I hate the idea of juggling numbers/players and bidding against teams that have 30 Mil to spend.

I have seen a report that says the vikings have basically stopped talks with jones. Personally that means that the vikings are going full bore after M.F. I have my fingers crossed, i am willing to restructure my contract if it will make a difference

I think Floyd would be great plus he'd get to be the number 1 WR. In AZ he'd be #2 behind Fitz. Gives him the chance to shine.

Also, the Jets are now in contention for Jones. Not sure what happened with the Vikes talk but the Jets are now showing interest because Moss' price was possibly too high. This according to rotoworld.com

Well after letting Rice get away i think MN needs to get very aggressive and sign MF now. Why bring in McNabb if you arent going to give him the WRs to throw to. Cam or Jaymar arent the answer. We need MF

I took a quick look, it's hard to get accurrate numbers without the Vikes announcing the new contracts yet,

but we started 4.8 mil over.

Madieu freed up 5.5 mil
Kennedy freed up 2.5 mil, putting us 3.2 mil under the cap.

I'd expect Aromashodu to get about 800K against the cap.
Longwell about 3 mil.
we're roughly 600K over now.

Now figure Chad is owed 12 mil. Renegotiate to a 6 mil cap hit, that frees up 6 mil.
Peterson is owed about the same. renegotiate to a 10 mil cap hit, frees up another 3 mil. Decent Salary, $25 mil bonus spread over 5 years.

8.4 mil under

Other potential relief:
Winfield is owed 6.75 mil this year, but only 3 mil if he's demoted to Nickel. renegotiate with him to a flat 4 mil, free up another 2.75.
