Camp Notes 7/27/07 -- Good Day 1 Wrapup From KFAN
http://rubechat.kfan.com/forums/thread/1836061.aspx
Futher down in the thread this nugget:The sweltering heat during afternoon practice had players reaching for water and hiding under towels. Despite the heat, Childress and company held an action packed practice, filled with 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 mini-scrimmages. Day one of Vikings training camp is officially in the books. Here's what happened this afternoon:
Shiancoe actually looked really good. There were questions about how well he could catch, but that's because he was strictly a blocking tight end in New York. Keep in mind, it's early... But Shiancoe appeared to have very soft hands today. He caught a couple passes 12-15 yards downfield over his shoulder as well. That's a very good sign.Kentucky Vikes Fan

When you require nothing, you get nothing; when you expect nothing, you will find nothing; when you embrace nothing, all you will have is nothing.

Nice nugget on Shank!!
Being a fantasy football nut to go along with a Vikings Fanatic, I watch football pretty much all day on Sundays, and I've seen Shank play.
Some of the catches I've seen him make we're so smooth, I thought he looked like a large Jerry Rice.
Good hands, good body control, and knows where the lines and 1st's are...
Got to say I liked seeing this one as well:
And this one even more! For what it's worth, Kenechi Udeze earned a sack near the end of 11-on-11 drills.
Childress is not tolerating false starts. Anyone who jumps early must keep running until they reach the goal post. Then they run back. Guys who jumped early this afternoon: DT Joe Bradley, OT Josh Day, WR Chandler Williams, OT Marcus Johnson.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

even better quote, love it. lets hope he can keep it like that during regular season, but the WRs catch it this timeTarvaris was a bit erratic during morning practice, but his throws were deadly accurate this afternoon. A few guys are dropping passes, but T-Jack keeps putting the ball right on the money (for the record, Bollinger was also very accurate all day).

They should also add that Steve Hutchinson jumped early and had to run.
I was there, he wasn't happy about it either.
When he got to the end of the field, he kicked the goal post and trotted back.
