why would he leave the d-line he has been with for the last few years and go to a team offering him the same job?

As far as I am concerned he can go. A fresh start might be good for the under achieving defensive line.

Sid Hartman: Frazier keeping Dunbar, Stewart
    By SID HARTMAN, Star Tribune

Frazier said there is no truth to rumors that defensive line coach Karl Dunbar and wide receiver coach George Stewart were looking at other jobs.

Frazier said that Dunbar and Stewart were going to remain on the staff.

Re: Bucs offer job to Vikings' DL coach Karl Dunbar

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier continues to put together his coaching staff, and there still is a question of whether offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and special teams coach Brian Murphy will remain on the staff.
The fact that Frazier is still questioning whether or not to keep Bevell & Murphy is why I don't have a lot of faith or support in him.

These two should have been first out the door without question. A no-brainer.

lol, doubting him before the season is even officially over, huh Singer? You're tough.

On the subject of this topic, I'm glad Dunbar is staying. Stewart I'm indifferent on.

People who were saying w/ the decline of the DLine this year you wouldn't be upset to see Dunbar go? He helped coach our line to 3 consecutive years with the #1 Rushing D. He's coached Allen, Kevin & Pat Williams, and has gotten our young back ups ready to fill in. Robison, Mitchell, Kennedy, and Evans all play well when given reps.

The decline of our dline this year can be contributed to the overall decline of the team. Not Dunbar.

When I isolate on the defensive line during games, I do not often like what I see.

Does Dunbar teach his players to only bull rush? Does he not teach how to get leverage under the pads? Does Dunbar hate stunts? Does he tell his players to stutter-step up to the offensive tackle on a speed rush?

I would rather have Rod Marinelli, Kris Kocurek, or Mike Trgovac coach the defensive line. Too bad they are coaching in Chicago, Detroit, and Green Bay.
