If we want that shot he'll have to fall to the Bucs, I agree.Looks like we will have to deal with Tampa at #4 if we really want a shot at Calvin Johnson!
But we will not trade up. Bank on it
cogitans, we traded up in last year's draft (2 3rds for a 2nd).
We also reportedly made a push to trade up in the first round too to grab another QB, but the asking price was too high.
I don't think Childress has any problems with trading up, he just doesn't want to get screwed in the process.Zeus wrote:

That may be true. But last year is different from this year. Last year we were a 9-7 team, this year a 6-10 team. Also it's very different to trade up in the bottom of the 2nd round than in the top of the 1st."cogitans" wrote:

I just don't see it happen this year.
Thanks to PPE for the sig.

I honestly don't think it will happen this year either.
If for no other reason than the fact that the only player worth trading up for (CJ) will be gone with the first pick IMHO.
I actually tend to like trading down anyway.
I think that two pretty good players are better than one super star anyway, although even I have to admit the Vikes were more fun to watch with a particular superstar on our roster.Zeus wrote:

Re: Browns win toss, will pick third
i think that the browns are in a position to trade out because of all the needs they have, as for moss going to the jags if it were true i still believe that the raiders would take russle based on the recent release of brooks i dont see them taking anyone but russle

Thanks josdin00

They would have a veteran starting QB to replace Brooks.Zeus wrote:

There was good news for the Browns Friday morning as they won the coin toss with Tampa Bay and will pick third overall in April's NFL Draft.
The teams gathered at 7:45 a.m. to toss the coin. Tampa Bay's representative called heads, and the coin came up tails.
Maybe not, since it was the GM. ;D

Don't they know "tails never fails"?Browns general manager Phil Savage and Tampa Bay GM Bruce Allen represented their clubs at the coin toss. Allen called heads and the coin landed tails, giving the Browns the No. 3 overall pick for the fifth time in club history.Zeus wrote:

Re: Browns win toss, will pick third
Get this pick!!!
We need to be ahead of Tampa.
Oakland looks like they'll be taking a QB, and the Lions would be insane to take another WR.
Cleveland has a ton of needs, and could fill most of them at 7. LeCharles Bentley's career might be over, so they need an offensive line, they're defensive backfield could use some help, maybe a big mouth... you know who I'm talking about.
Let's pull the trigger on this.
