    Broncos to Release Wilson

A league source tells us that the Denver Broncos will be releasing linebacker Al Wilson.

I would really like to pick him up, that way we can keep EJ on the outside where he played so well this year, and when Greenway returns he'll play the other side. That's a pretty nice looking set of LBs.

That way we can basically focus 100% on offense in the draft.

I don't think it would hurt to take a chance on him.
Give him a 1 or 2 year deal like the Vikes did with Doss and Denver did with Stokley.
A lot of teams do that just in case the player heals and ends up being a stud again.
He is a 5 time pro bowler for crying out loud.
He is a leader on the field and in the locker room.
He is a veteren presence that could teach all the LBs on how to play the position and definitely help EJ learn how to play the MLB better. I think the Vikes should jump on him before someone else does.

Let's see....a veteran middle linebacker who has a history of good performance that probably still has 2-3 good years left.

    I say sign him up!

I dont even think Childress will consider him. He'd throw our LB unit for a loop.(A good loop at that, but still a loop)

Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!

    Re: Broncos to Release Wilson

I honestly see no reason why we shouldnt sign him.
A proven vet with the speed required to cover the deep middle in the Tampa 2.
Also, it would allow E.J to stay at weak side where he flourished last year, and Leber and Greenway could battle it out at strong side.
I would be very pleased if Al Wilson is a Vike next year.

    Chuch.

We would just bump Greenway to a backup. I think they have more faith in him than that. Unless we could trade or cut Leber because he would be an expensive backup.

    Re: Broncos to Release Wilson

This guy was also a great leader in Denver, we seem to have a strong leader on two of the 3 levels of defense, Pat Williams on the line, and Sharper in the backfield(I guess K Will and Antoine Winfield kind of are too) but don't have one at LB, and putting a real leader in the middle linebacker position of the cover 2 could really help us out.

I really hope we pick him up, that would make this slow off season totally worth it.
