I for one, am gonna be watching young JDB with a keen eye this year.

Just can't get over the feeling that if Lord Dickhead Noodle Arm winds up on this roster this year, JDB will be the starting QB in 2011.

Ole Noodle arm will probably come in for 2 years.
Sages contract is a two year contract.
Ole JDB will have had the proper amount of time to be groomed the way a QB should be groomed.

On the bench instead of on the field under the glaring eyes of the fans who just can't seem to overlook that type of learning process and the associated mistakes that come with it.
I have stated several times that TJ has been hurt by getting on the field too early.
I remember.

He could turn out to be the next best thing to sliced bread and there will still be some that only remember watching him learn on the field.

Kindof sad.

Back to the topic, I have a sneaky feeling though that TJ is going to walk/seek employment elsewhere leaving young Booty in the wings as the next best prospect for the future.

Gonna be watching with interest this year to see how much he has progressed.
I hope to see more of him as well, he's a big unknown to me.

If Favre does end up signing here we may see a lot more of Booty in pre-season.
Assumption being that TJ is odd man out for reasons discussed previously.
I don't expect to see a lot of Favre playing in pre-season leaving most of the snaps to Sage and JDB.
Sage I would expect would get the lion's share as he will be the primary backup, but its also a great time to see how JDB is progressing and gague how strong they feel about keeping him on the roster as a future developmental guy.

If Favre doesn't sign, I would expect TJ and Sage to get most all of the playing time in pre-season to see who should be starting.
Unless JDB is a legitimate starting candidate in 2009, I wouldn't expect to see much at all from him.
This scenario also makes it hard to gauge a lot of other offensive players trying to make the roster.
You make alot of sense My Sexy Little Pixie, however, I just don't see the staff getting rid of TJ or Sage this year.

My guess is the following will be your 3 QB's on the 53 man roster.....

a.
LNAD (Arrrrrrgh)
b.
TJ
c.
Sage

Think about it,

a.
Our OL doesn't have the best rep for keeping QB's healthy, and I'm not just talking about TJ.
b.
LNAD just might go down because of that.
c.
TJ has more reps in the system and has proven he can come off the bench and win.
d.
TJ is playing for next to nothing this year.
e.
Sage was brought in for a reason.
If not to be the starter, to provide quality depth.

Unless he is lighting it up in camp, and it appears he isn't getting much chance as TJ and Sage are getting most of the reps with the ones, JDB will be the odd man out.
If he gets to the PS great, if not, who cares.
They can either snatch another prospect QB off the waiver wires or draft a guy next year.

My guess is LNAD is coming in to play 2 more years.
That would then mean TJ would be allowed to walk as Sage would be going into his second year.
A draft prospect could be brought in for some seasoning if JDB doesn't make it.
Very possible.
JDB is
pretty unknown to me.
I agree that they have to feel pretty strongly about him before they would release TJ.
If they don't feel like he has a franchise QB potential then he is the logical choice to cut.

Either scenario of Favre, Sage and TJ or Favre, Sage and JDB is quite possible.
I am also not saying that Sage will get the nod as #2 behind Favre if TJ is kept.
That spot still has to be earned.
There is a outside chance they they would/could let Sage go, however, at this point I don't see that happening.
Again, it gets back to the whole OL and injuries.

On a side note, not sure what the CAP hit would be if they did let him (Sage) go and kept TJ and JDB with Glennon going to the PS.
Pretty sure Sage would be released or traded. People can say we gave up a lot for Sage already... but we also gave up two third round picks to get Jackson, who also has more experience with our offense. Jackson throws less INTs. And is more mobile. And younger.

Keeping Sage would be questionable.
Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

I'd agree with both of you, in order of who goes, it would be
1. Booty
2. Sage
3. TJ

I wonder if they'd attempt to shop Sage at all, and if nobody bites then cut Booty?

By every physical trait Sanchez > Booty.
Sanchez has the attributes to become a starting NFL QB; Booty, a back up.
How they develop with respect to their ceilings remains to be seen.

Exactly I am going by college performance as well.

I truly think Sanchez will bust, but who knows only time will tell. Sanchez just seemed to get overhyped real fast.

I honestly would take Rosenfells or TJack as my QB over Sanchez..... Of course this could all change and Sanchez could light it up, but IMO I see bust written all over him.

Good point C-Murder. I just feel Booty would be let go first. A 5th rounder that has more questions than TJ or Sage.
I'd agree with both of you, in order of who goes, it would be
1. Booty
2. Sage
3. TJ

I wonder if they'd attempt to shop Sage at all, and if nobody bites then cut Booty?
Dont be suprised if Jackson is the one to get cut.

I would, as someone mentioned, they traded two thirds to get TJ, they traded a fourth for Sage... you tell me who they invested the most in.
Sage will never get better, TJ might.
