He never played in Philadelphia. So there's proof he can catch, which is the only requirement to be a Minnesota Vikings receiver. Having played in Philadelphia is a big plus too.The former Bears receiver caught 29 passes last year for Tennessee.
Either way, I don't care, it's an insignificant signing, we don't need another 4th receiver, we need someone who will step up and be our #1 guy.

Re: Bobby Wade's a Viking
I can see where it would have been tough to break into the starting lineup at Tenn. They are stacked at the wr position.
He should be able to put up pro bowl numbers under childress

Re: Bobby Wade's a Viking
Kevin curtis had 479 yards last year.
Bobby wade had 461 yards last year.
There's a comparison.

Anyone notice that if you click on "Troy Williamson" later in the article, this appers:

:-\
As to the signing, what can it hurt? He's getting paid, but $15 mil over 5 years isn't much for a wideout, and if he stinks, he can be cut. i like, as was posted in another thread (mostly by Zeus, i believe) that he's very effective at converting third downs. If next year is anything like the last, this quality alone will vastly improve our offense (even if it only results in fieldgoals

33 passes, 461 yards and 2 TDs on the Vikings last year would have put him near the top of our receiving corp last yearVIKES CATCH WADE
Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reports that the Minnesota Vikings have signed receiver Bobby Wade to a five-year, $15 million deal.
And so yet another so-so player gets paid.
Wade, who spent two years with the Bears and two with the Titans, caught 33 passes for 461 yards and two touchdowns (the only scores of his career) in 2006.
He started in only two of 16 regular-season games.

He never played in Philadelphia
I know, but guys that had pasts in Philly usually get picked by Childress first. Had Wade played there, he'd probably be the #1 guy right now on the depth chart.

if thats true, then i like the signing..we just need guys that are good enough to seperate themselves from DBs to give our QB a target to throw to..then they gotta catch it of course as well, which it seems like this guy can sorta doi like, as was posted in another thread (mostly by Zeus, i believe) that he's very effective at converting third downs. wish this guy was able to catch more TD passes tho..
People who see life as anything more than pure entertainment are missing the point.
