Bleedpurple's Multiple Mock draft.
I'm going to do something a little different... I'm going to post a mock draft based on what I think teams are going to do.
And then another based on what I think teams should do or what I would do if I was that teams' GM.
Since I think i'd make such a great one and it's my dream job so why not post this among those for a little critique.
also, I DID NOT FACTOR IN POTENTIAL TRADES so here's goes..
Mock Draft: WHAT TEAMS ARE GOING TO DO.
Pick Team
Player they will pick
1 Detroit
Matt Stafford - Everyone says they take a QB so sobeit.
2 St. Louis
Jason Smith - obvious choice after Pace was waived
3 Kansas City Aaron Curry - Concensus best player and best available
4 Seattle
Eugene Monroe - they get that replacement for W.Jones
5 Cleveland
Michael Crabtree - with Donte in jail and edwards on the blocks they get the best WR
6 Cincinnati
Andre Smith - they need a LT and help on the line for Carson plus they have WR's
7 Oakland
Jeremy Maclin - If Russel is gonna develop gotta get him a target
8 Jacksonville BJ Raji - they weren't the same without Stroud gotta get that d back
9 Green Bay
Brian Orakpo - with Raji gone and the switch to the 3-4 they get an outside rush guy
10 San Fran
Mark Sanchez - this & the jax pick has trade all over it but if not BPA
11 Buffalo
Aaron Maybin - Need pass rush help
12 Denver
Tyson Jackson - with the switch, they need help on D bad. Bailey cant' cover forever
13 Washington Robert Ayers - the right thing to do but i also think they should consider Oher here
14 New Orleans Chris Wells - perfect compliment to Bush, even tho Thomas isn't bad either
15 Houston
Brian Cushing - finally some help for Ryans.
16 San Diego
Michael Oher - BPA clearly... they get the guy that helps right away. so many options
17 Jets
Darrius Heyward-Bey - when no QB available might as well develop the receiver
18 Denver
Peria Jerry - More help on defense.
19 Tampa Bay Everett Brown - with the jettison of Dfense they start to rebuild.
20 Detroit
Eben Britton - some protection for Stafford
21 Philadelphia
Brandon Pettigrew - A nice replacement for LJ.
best TE in draft
22 Minnesota
Malcom Jenkins - clearly BPA and an upgrade over TJ and help in the return game
23 New England
Clay Matthews - would anyone fit better? a younger version of the guy they traded
24 Atlanta
Ray Maualuga - best defensive player left
25 Miami
Kenny Britt - finally help for penny, some forget about camarillo, but a nice addition
26 Baltimore
Vontae Davis - talented corner and who better to get him up to snuff reed and ray ray
27 Indy
Evander Hood - nice anchor they so desperately have been needing
28 Philly
Knowshon Moreno - complement to Westbrook
29 Giants
Hakeem Nicks -disciplined route runner to take over for Plax assuming they keep d pik
30 Tennessee
Darius Butler - with no receivers or Dlineman avail they beef up the defense
31 Arizona
Donald Brown - finally an all around back to take over for edge
32 Pittsburgh
Max Unger - vastly needed help for big ben
Now if I was a GM here is who I would select with the pick for each team....
Pick Team
Player they should pick
1 Detroit
Jason Smith - this should be the pick u got Pepp he can hold it down for now
2 St. Louis
Eugene Monroe - Gotta get a replacement for Pace
3 KC
Michael Crabtree - what better compliment for a new QB and across from Bowe
4 Seattle
Mark Sanchez - Perfect fit and a perfect understudy to injury riddled hasselbeck
5 Cleveland
Aaron Curry - Get the best Player in the draft
6 Cincinnati
Andre Smith - someone to take over on the left or right side
7 Oakland
Jeremy Maclin - that target for Russell
8 Jax
BJ Raji - Stroud's replacement best DT in draft
9 GB
Aaron Maybin - perfect fit as the 3-4 pass rusher
10 San Fran
Brian Orakpo - Help for that woeful defense, plus no receivers available right here
11 Buffalo
Tyson Jackson - Pass rush help badly needed
12 Denver
Robert Ayers - help build the defense back up that lost u so many games
13 Wash
Michael Oher - finally help to keep campbell running for his life and to find a receiver
14 N.O.
Beenie Wells - compliment to Thomas not Bush...
15 Houston
Everette Brown - Pass rush help on the other side of Williams
16 SD
Malcom Jenkins - so many ways to go u take BPA
17 Jets
Matt Stafford - the big armed QB they need in windy NY
18 Denver
Brian Cushing - more help for the defense
19 Tampa
Peria Jerry - a guy to help rebuild the defense..
20 Detroit
Josh Freeman - whoelse better for Pepp to mentor for a few years, plus u get ur QB
21 Philly
Kenny Britt - badly needed receiver taken early before he goes to mia or balt.
22 Minnesota
Eben Britton - Buhbye Cook... hello right tackle finally
23 NE
Clay Matthews - who else better to fit in NE's scheme an intely player with good bloodlines
24 Atlanta
Brandon Pettigrew - finally a replacement for Algae
25 Miami
Darrius Heyward-Bey - nice compliment for Ginn and camarillo can go to slot
26 Baltimore
Rey Maluauga - who else better to teach him the ropes than ray ray.. replace for scott
27 Indy
Evander Hood - anchor for the middle
28 Philly
Knowshon Moreno - now you have your compliment.. wouldnt rule out safety here either
29 Giants
Hakeem Nicks - good route runner to place opposite smith and hixon.. but he's no Plax
30 Tenn
Vontae Davis - very talented player for Fischer to groom
31 Arizona
Donald Brown - versatile replacement for edge
32 Pittsburgh
Max Unger - badly needed help for the O-line and big ben

Re: Bleedpurple's Multiple Mock draft.
Cant argue with anything there, Although I would love for us to draft a WR (kenny britt) but I wouldnt be mad with that pick

Re: Bleedpurple's Multiple Mock draft.
Yea Britton is growing on me alot.
He seems to have a real good head on his shoulders.
He still may be a bit of a reach, but OT drops off after him.
I think Chilly loves this guy though and his personality will give him a reason to take him over a Percy Harvin or Vontae Davis.
As we all know, Chilly is huge on character.

yeah, if we drafted him i think he could play safety and corner... He'd be a huge upgrade over TJ and be the kind of Darren Sharper play maker back there... and he could also move over and play some corner...You think Jenkins is going to play safety?
He would give us huger versatility in the secondary... If it played out that way i think we'd have to take him because at that point he's clearly the best player available...

He's a master of all trades in the secondary."There are 3 things that sell in America:

Re: Bleedpurple's Multiple Mock draft.
Nope.
I wouldn't be completely shocked to see Stafford drop, idk about down to 17 but hell after seeing what happened to Rodgers a few years ago, Quarterbacks are susceptible to anything.
Especially in this draft.

He's definately good, and even though the combine is just one part of the draft process, I really think he hurt himself there."bleedpurple" wrote:

However, the guy is a good football player.
I'm not sure how I'd feel about that pick.
How'd his pro day go?
Anyone know?

from national football post
http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2009/03/nfp-pro-day-report-5/
CB/FS Malcolm Jenkins (6-0, 204) did little to improve his 40 times after registering 4.55 and 4.58 seconds at his pro day. Jenkins reminds me of former Miami Hurricanes first-round pick Antrel Rolle. Like Rolle, I don’t think he has the straight-line speed to run with NFL receivers down the field. He will likely need to make a transition to FSWhy must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.
