    Best WR in the draft

To be honest, I don't know much about this years draft class of wide recievers and all the experts are really confusing me :-\ For example, this one guy has Manningham first, while another guy doesn't even have him in the top 5.
Therefore, I think it could be interesting to see what the majority on this site thinks.

It all depends on what your scheme is.
I don't think there is one clear cut winner like Calvin Johnson last year.
Some would be great Moss-esqe vertical threats, some would be decent redzone threats, some would be good west coast guys, but i don't think there's one great all-around reciever in this years draft.

Unless some team really values Desean Jackson's kick return ability and really reaches for him (ala Ted Ginn), the first receiver taken is going to either play Malcolm Kelly or Limas Sweed. If Kelly does well at his pro day, and runs a decent forty, he will be taken in the top 15. Kelly and Sweed are the only two receivers I would give a first round grade to, with Devin Thomas and James Hardy possibly sneaking in at the bottom. Both Kelly and Sweed are big, physical, sure handed receivers who can be effective in any offensive system.

Exactly, and depending on your scheme a couple could fit.

People just need to realize it isn't who is the best, it just matters what the team needs and who best fits the scheme.

Yes I understand, but I'm talking about the best all-round reciever. I know we have our own scheme, but the scheme may change throughout the years. If we get a reciever, the best thing would have someone who can fit the into any scheme.

I don't think there is one of those players in this draft though.

I would then have to say one of the bigger precise route runners rather than a smaller faster burner.

Problem is, that guy I choose won't be the same kindof guy someone else likes.
To hard of a question to ask IMHO.

I think the best overall WR is Malcolm Kelly.

Re: Best WR in the draft

I chose Malcolm Kelly, but the receiver that I think would fit best here is not on your list:

    Devin Thomas from Michigan State.
He was kind of a sleeper until he tore up the combine.
Now it might be hard to get him with our second round pick. :'(
Rock out with your cock out!!!

Re: Best WR in the draft

If we take one it should be Kelly in this situation. I really like us to have those big bodies in there for this system.

But I still voted another position. I want to get either S or DE, or perhaps OL

Thanks to PPE for the sig.
