Re: Best Prospects Left in Draft

We are not going to pick up any skill position players at this point in the draft who will turn out to be long term starters.

We will sign some training camp fodder and special teams contributors but our roster is now set for the year.

We improved a strong defense and made it potentially great, but except for signing a WR who is still not proven to be a 1000 yd/year guy and releasing a FB who paved the way for the rookie of the year and NFL single game rushing record we will have the same underperforming unit.

Two guys I'd be excited to see the Vikes get:

Carl Nicks (OT), Nebraska - He was talked about by some as going high in the second round.

Steven Justice (C), Wake Forest - One of the top centers in the draft.

The Vikes have enough ammo to move up right now (currently at 117) if they really wanted to.
I can only assume they have other guys on their list that I'm not familiar with though.
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

sigh, but we don't have a pick until the 5th round...

If we had our 3rd's still we could have a chance to get both booty and Manningham (if the team wanted them)

I highly doubt either of them will be there for the 5th round, but Manningam could possibly be there still, do we take him if he is?
He has some major character issues, but for a 5th round pick that would be worth the rick IMO
I think it is pretty clear the staff has who they want at the OL, QB, WR and TE positions.

Don't look for much to happen at any of those positions.

we will probably take a kicker and a cornerback with the next 2 picks.
I disagree my friend (of course
    ;D).
We will draft a QB and at least a OL and WR.
Not so sure we will use a pick on TE.
Way to much invested in them right now
    .

Why is it so hard for people to understand that?

For good or bad we have hinged our offensive success to T-Jack. :-
