Bengals | Kitna to explore free agency options
    Wed, 11 Jan 2006 06:20:41 -0800

Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports Cincinnati Bengals backup QB Jon Kitna indicated he will explore his options when free agency begins in March. The Bengals last talked with Kitna's agent about two months ago. "Eight weeks ago, it would have been a lot easier to sign here," Kitna told The Cincinnati Enquirer. "Now that the season is done, I want to see what is out there. I feel like God is leading me in this direction. I have to believe I am in the top 32 quarterbacks in this league." The Baltimore Ravens could be one team interested in signing Kitna.

Actually, that is high enough. That means he gets a starting gig compared to riding the pine.

Sounds like he is going to stay and be a backup in Cincy if he can't find a starting job somewhere else. So basically he probabaly won't be in purple.

Re: Bengals | Kitna to explore free agency options

I think Kitna could defiitely be in the mix to compete for starting jobs in some places ... Baltimore, Jets, Miami, Detroit just to name a few ... but it also looks like Warner, McCown, Rivers as a trade, and Ramsey could be looked at by a lot of people ... so it could be a busy market for people wanting to compete for jobs.
