    Bargain Basement? Remaining Free Agents

I wasn't sure if Karney deserved his own Free Agent thread, and well, most of the big name, expensive FAs have resigned or moved on, and are thus, off-the-market.
I stumbled upon some info here and totally think depth if not an improvement should be brought in for us at Full Back!
(But, Please add whomever other second tier Free Agents you've got interest in too!!)

    http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nfcsouth/0-9-45/Saints-the-early-winner-in-NFC-South.html
Start with the two free-agent signings the Saints have made. They brought in fullback Heath Evans from New England to replace Mike Karney. It may not seem like much, but it could make an offense that already was very good even better. Karney was the perfect fullback for a power-running game, but the Saints don't have a power-running game.
Granted, "Power Running Game," and West Coast Offense don't exactly go together, but it seems to me its what we've got anyway.
This guy fits the FO profile, coming off his first contract, and looks to be built to block.
He also likely won't be expecting big bucks nor guaranteed starter status.
Although mostly unused in NO, he has flashed some potential, when given the chance...

Karney rushed 39 times for 79 yards and five TDs in his five seasons in New Orleans. He also caught 53 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns. He scored three of his touchdowns in one nationally televised Sunday night game at Dallas in 2006.
Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Is the most updated list I've found so far...although, obviously, also out dated.
Other depth/deal/special team guys still available?

    Corey Ivy CB BAL
    Melvin Fowler C BUF
    Teddy Lehman LB BUF
    Taushcher RT
    George Foster?
    RT
Bullocks or Butler at S (NO and NYG)
    Keiwan Ratliff CB IND
    Maybe some DT depth?
    Le'Roi Glover?
    Shaun Cody?

OR, are we possibly standing pat until after the draft...to see what spots we've addressed, and what bagains are left at the bottom of the bin?

2 Torn ACL injuries since 2002.
He would have to be a bargain basement acquisition.
I like his field presence though.

I'm with you on that. I would love to get fullback Mike Karney to Minnesota. He's an absolute beast!! However, it wouldn't make our team much better. Shure, it would be a big upgrade from what we already have at FB (Tahi, Dugan) but fullbacks might be the least important position on the whole team.

If we can get him for cheap money, then I hope we sign him right away.

    No Roy Williams?

    R-dub bringing da hat.

This would be a great pickup, very undervalued as a can't cover.
Mind you, he had a broke arm all year.
Look past last year at his pics.
    He would do well.

I would love Tauscher ... I know he has had injury issues ... and he definitely would have to be at the right price ... but at worst he would provide solid depth and be a strong mentor for Cook.

I wanted to see Leonard Weaver, FB from the Seahawks come here.
I think he would provide an added dimension (YAC) to the offense that Tahi doesn't.

I wouldn't mind signing Bertrand Berry to play LDE either.
He is a high motor/character player that still has a couple years in him.

A RT still has to be priority, unless we are getting one in the draft on day one.
Even so, it'd be nice to have some depth on the O-line.
Rock out with your cock out!!!

What he said, plus resigning a few of our own.
See Jimmy Kennedy was resigned last night.
    Good move IMHO.
Light a fire under that kids ass and you will have a hell of a player.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg
