An OLB is NOT the final piece to the defense. We still have questions at Mike, and Safety. Also, whenever a player starts to think that he knows how to play the game better than the coach does, it just opens the door to a Childress-Owens like confrontation. That is not the kind of mentality that our new head coach wants on the team, and I can't say that I blame him. It's not like he completely disregards the plays. He has instincts and this is how he uses them! he was an all-pro when he used his instincts! When they locked him down he wasn't able to do as well. He knows how to play better than coaches do. I want a playmaker! If we miss out on one or even two (We can dream) of the three big name linebackers, I will be livid. I would far rather have the final piece to this defense than Edgerrin James. Arrington is my choice followed by Witherspoon then Peterson although I would be ecstatic about any of them. DEFENSE! SKOL VIKES!
He is a good player, but I just don't know how well he would fit. I could be wrong, and our version of the cover 2 may indeed allow him more flexibility... but personally I think there are other FA LBs out there tha tare a better fit.Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

He is alright.. I think we have better options out there that could come at a better price, and be a better fit for the cover 2. We will see what happens though if and when free agency begins..

Re: Arrington a Viking?
I am hoping he is on his way to Winter Park. I am thinking there is no way he would have done this unless his agent had something pretty much lined up. And since he was released (waived), he is eligible to be signed BEFORE the FA signing period begins.

Re: Arrington a Viking?
I would love to have Aarington. I think he could do great with us. He is one of the best LB's in the league IMO.

Re: Arrington a Viking?
I like Arrington alot, but I think we can get a guy like Julian Petersen or witherspoon and draft a fast LB in the first or second round and have a hell of a LB core.

Thanks Lotza!
