We'll know more after the DL combine today. Many scouts have difficulty evaluating him. But indications are that he could probably go in the 1st round (all it takes is one team to love him enough).

So that could indicate that he'll not be a vike, as he's probably not worth 7th overall and we have bigger needs than DT.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Most of the sites I visit have him listed in the top 3-5 DL in the draft. This site has him the number 2 DL in the draft.

    http://www.footballsfuture.com/2007/prospects/dl.html

I currently have him slated to go to the Bears at #31 however, if he does as good as some think he will in the combine his stock will rise (old story).
With that said, he could go as early as #10 to Atlanta.
More than likely I think he will go to Carolina Panthers at #14 or to the Cincinnati Bengals at #18.

With Kerney bolting for FA, you may be correct that the Falcons will look hard at Amobi...even though Kerney is a DE and Amobi is a DT...but I don't think that they will pass on LaRon Landry if he is still on the board.
We don't need a DT like Amobi since we already have KWill.

From what I've read this 20 year old could easily make the transition to DE. And Pat is getting long in the tooth. This kid is by all accounts one strong athlete that sheds blocks like water. And he's still growing!!

    Interesting.
I haven't read that anywere yet.

I don't have the combine height/weights yet but from my understanding he is a bit on the short side as well a maybe a bit heavy for a DE (Amobi Okoye DT 6'1 317) .
Typically, it has been my understanding they (NFL Coaches) like thier DE (in a 4-3 Def) to be around 6"4 - 6'6" range kindof like the guys coming out (i.e. Gaines Adams DE 6'5 260-Jamaal Anderson DE 6'6 280 -Victor Abiamiri DE 6'4 270-)
Quentin Moses (6'5 257) is even a bit on the light side and will have to add about 10-15 lbs.

Mario Williams was drafted last year at 6-7 - 294lbs.

Maybe those sites are talking about projecting him as a Run Stuffing LDE vice a RDE that is usually the Pass rushing specialist.

Can you give me the link(s)?

He made a huge leap in value yesterday.
He's now slated in the top 6 of the draft.
Scout has him as the last of 6 - 5 star prospects.

Thanks SKOL. The link worked. I thought his stock would go up but that is incredible.

If we weren't so solid at DT I would definitely take him. He's the next Tommie Harris.
Because I'm a Vikings fan, they are that much sexier.
