I have stated since last year Allison will be a good NFL player. On the NFL network, Mayock was giving his evaluation of the team and said Allison has been the surprise of camp. That he is catching everything and is very elusive.
I thought that was very promising news and I hope he busts out this year.
I look forward to seeing him with a bigger role on O.
he reminds me of an anquan boldin type reciever.
i guess we'll see if thats accurate at all.
really the whole wr position is interesting cuz who knows how much we are gonna throw.
childress said he's gonna open it up more but i'll believe it when i see it.
but if thats the case maybe we see alot more mutliple wr sets and also who it is that emerges to be a go to guy, since we haven't had one in such a long time.
or for that matter if anyone does emerge.
i believe we have enough playmakers now that if things dont improve the obvious blame is gonna fall on the playcalling or tavaris.
i could be wrong but i think we have a talented enough wr corp to make the pass game a formidable one that makes teams have to respect it.
lets hope i'm right

Re: Allison
Our WRs are better than giving credit. AA is solid and he may be 5th string. Ferg is nice and can block well, but I think he will be 5th string. We wont be going 5 wideout alot anyway so I dont think AA will get alot of playing time. I cant wait till preseason start, even though I wont see the first game

That was me for one. He caught almost all those passes if they were thrown to him. I paid attention to the game & was never one idiotic enough to state he dropped everything thrown to him."i_bleed_purple" wrote:
I was one of the ones who thought that of TW. In watching his college highlights he did alot of his damage on short passes over the middle and then took them for a big gain. But I guess he never worked out here in any position."UffDaVikes" wrote:
People here thought Twill was better suited for the slot because of his speed and elusiveness, and they may have been true."dcboardr41" wrote:
You think he is a better fit at slot? I never looked at him as fitting there. Hopefully I can watch him a bit at TC on Saturday night when we go there.like i said before, i think wade can help AA learn how to play the slot and go over the middle, give wade one more season in the slot and AA will be nasty in the slot
Throw him the quick passes where he doesn't have time to think to himself "please don't drop. please don't drop..."
Hopefully AA succeeds and they find the best spot for him.

is that a bad thing?
boldin is a very good wr.
he's not overly big, or overly fast, but breaks tackles, has good juke, and makes plays.
from what i've seen of allison, thats what he reminds me of.
it's not like allison looks like randy moss or something."self improvement's masturbation.

I know what you are trying to say.
I just don't think it is fair at this point to compare Allison with Boldin.
Boldin is one of the premiere WRs in the league.
Allison is not near that yet.
Maybe someday but for right now I can't agree.

Boldin is built like a RB and can catch EVERYTHING thrown his way.
He is a "go to" WR in the Cardinals scheme.
I drafted him in FFL last year and my research uncovered that, according to NFL CB's, Anquan Boldin is one of the most difficult WR's to cover...due to his girth, strength, and ability to change direction.
I love Allison, if he can be like Boldin, the Vikes are in better shape than I think.
Allison is a potentially very good player, Boldin is at the level Allison aspires to be; I assure you.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

Re: Allison
I can vouch on one thing.
Allison had a spectacular jump catch today in the afternoon practice.
Havn't seen him drop a pass yet

you guys are funny.
i wasn't saying allison is boldin, i said the way he looks out there and plays reminds me of boldin.
who knows what he'll turn out to be, but by the looks of him thats the vibe i get.
i hope i am right cuz boldin is a beast but the comparison is strictly visual so dont look too much into it.
i dont even have alot of film too look at by allison besides his brief playing time and some college footage."self improvement's masturbation.

Re: Allison
He sure is catching the ball well, is very quick and was pretty good last year in the return game.
All in all, a solid contributor to both the passing game and the return game for this season is probably what he will end up being.BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE
